'No! Princess! Don't go any further!' a voice called behind her. She just rolled her eyes and continued down the star ladder. Until she felt something so cold on her furry body. She looked up at the "Sun" as the mortals called it, and fell to the ground, into nothingness.
"Thunderheart wake up!" the little anthro child gasped for breath as she opened her eyes, relieved her nightmare was over with. Her father stood over her wiping the tears that slowly leaked from her bright green eyes.
"Papa!" she cried as she grabbed onto his neck. He gently stroked the back of her head and cradled her as she sobbed into his shoulder.
"It's okay baby girl. Papa's here." Thunderheart sobs turned into small hiccups, and then her normal breathing again.
"I had a bad dream again." she said looking guilty as she stared at the floor.
"You act as though you've committed a crime. It's okay. You want to tell me about it?" the frightened child shook her head and sighed.
"Do I really have to go tomorrow?" she asked looking at her father with pitiful eyes. Faolan sighed and set his daughter on her bed.
"Sweetheart, you have to go to school tomorrow. And don't worry, your brothers and sister will be there with you." Thunderheart sighed and snuggled under the blankets as her father kissed her forehead.
"Goodnight Papa." she said, still trying to change his mind.
"Goodnight my princess." he said as he turned her lamp out.
