Druna drabble. Enjoy!
In the five years that Luna Lovegood was at school with Draco Malfoy, he never said a word to her.
He did watch her, though – with mild disdain at first, but by his sixth year, that had mutated into curiosity. Why did she dress so strangely, augmenting her uniform with peculiar jewellery? Why did she skip down hallways, instead of walking like normal people did? What did she think about, staring dreamily into space.
"Draco, you're not listening to me!" Pansy Parkinson whined, prodding him over breakfast. Draco jolted. He had not even been aware that Pansy was sitting next to him, much less that she had been talking.
"What was that?"
"You're staring at that Looney girl again!" Pansy accused, crossing her arms. "If you like her so much, why don't you go sit with her instead?"
Draco almost stood up before he registered that Pansy was being sarcastic. "Sorry, darling. What were you saying?" he asked, and she went off on one of her tangents. Draco nodded and pretended to listen, but he was watching Luna out of the corner of his eye. Toying with the idea of going over and talking to her.
What would he say?
What did one say to someone as sweet and pure as Luna Lovegood?
And how would an angel like her respond to a monster like him?
