"Can you feel the frosty snow on your skin, Nathan?"
Ever since I found out that he could not feel a thing in the world on that lovely skin of his, it's been my job to prove that he is not faking.
(snowballs should make anyone shiver, they even make Jayne freeze)
"For the last time, Ms. Tam, I can't feel a damn thing."
He explains the simple fact to me for the hundredth time; Simon would be ashamed at how stupid I look around him, with a gruff voice but I can tell he loves every moment of it.
(glad to have someone not pointing out the hard facts but being so damn naive)
"But you can feel this, can't you?"
Every time I say that familiar sentence I make sure to prove my point by touching his tan skin.
Knowing that these magic fingers of mine are able to define nature, but this time instead of skin I kiss his all but ready lips.
(being the second woman in the world that he can feel has its perks)
"Yes I can, River, I can feel every part of you and how warm you are."
It's nice to see that timid smile of his come out of hiding, remembering a time when my job was to bring Simons out and I never failed, thanks to my fingertips.
"See, Nathan, you're cold and I'll always be here to make sure you're nice and warm."
Nathan helped chase away the cold winds as he pulls me into his chest, a cozy place I can be found anytime of the day, and we made sure the harsh winter of Haven can't get us.
"Good, I need all the help I can get in this crazy town of mine, and I believe you're the perfect one for the job."
