Percy's pov

everyone was nervous the argoII was ready to fly to Rome at a moments notice but we were waiting for a prophecy we all had our bags packed and sitting by the doors of our cabins ready to go

"hey Annabeth where are you going?"

"archery why?"

"there's a half-blood with a few hell hounds after her in central park, you up for a flight?"

Annabeth's pov

well so much for the chariot races but finally something interesting

"yeah sure let me grab my sword are we taking some pegasi?"

"yeah blackjack and Guido are ready to go, meet you down by the beach!" he yells as he runs off. A couple minutes later we were soaring high over long island the city coming into view piper frank and Jason had decided to come with us and they were flying behind us along with an extra Pegasus for the girl we were going after.

We circled low over central park looking for a few car sized dogs and a demigod they weren't hard to find she was running along a jogging path at one side of the reservoir she had a sword in her hand and there were three hell hounds close behind one pounced and she swung the sword. We all caught our breath as she disappeared under the black shadow-like fur.

Percy's pov

oh no

Mrs. O'Leary had jumped on me once she weighed like a thousand pounds and that had-dent been aggressive i thought this girl was dead for sure. But some how the monster melted into shadow and the girl got up brushed herself off and looked up at us. She obviously saw the pegasi but she just turned to the other two hell-hounds put away her sword and slung a bow off her back it looked suspiciously like a hunters bow. She drew an arrow and shot it at the hound on the right it was a big hound so the arrow did-dent kill it we finally got down low enough to jump off the pegasi and help feeling pretty useless at this point. Frank pulled out a huge arrow gleaming wickedly its point looked like it could bring down an elephant with one shot. When it hit the hound the monster looked surprised but evaporated within seconds. I made the water from the reservoir grab the last hound and drown it. We all walked over to the girl she looked about thirteen dark brown hair, brown eyes. She looked like a hunter but she was missing the faint silver glow that surrounded all the hunters.

Annabeth's pov

"uh hi?" i said, the girl wasn't really paying attention to us she was wiping the monster slime off her sword

"hi i'm aria" is all she said back she obviously wasn't very friendly at the moment.

"ah well i'm Annabeth Chase and this is my boyfriend Percy Jackson"

"yeah i know who you are"

"well don't bother introducing us Annabeth" frank says as he steps forward and introduces our other friends

"well this is fun and all but we really should be going before some monster senses airhead and seaweed brain here any objections. No? Okay lets go then" i say before they can say anything
