Chapter 7

The scenes played out like a movie for Reid. One after another important moments in his life played out in front of him and he was just there for the ride.

It was the day after choosing Luke over the hospital and the two were at his apartment with Katie since she was out with Jacob for the day. A baseball game was playing and usually Reid was interested but this time he wasn't because he was watching Luke sleep, half way there himself. Reid moved his leg to get comfortable and the slight movement had woken Luke who looked like a little kid at the moment which caused the doctor to laugh. Hearing his laugh, Luke turned on Reid's chest and glared at the doctor as if knowing what he was laughing about. A tickle war started that ended with both on the floor, Reid on top of Luke and them kissing the daylights out of each other.

The scene then changed to a couple of days later when they had slept together in Reid's bed, though unfortunately that was all they did in bed. This time it was Luke who woke up first and moved from Reid's chest to the same pillow the doctor's head was laying on. The blonds hand ran carefully through the curly auburn hair, down to the doctor's face to caress his cheeks, and finally over his lips down to his neck. The hand movement caused Reid to open his eyes and look straight into Luke's brown ones. Luke tried to kiss Reid but the doctor turned his head away.

"Don't I have morning breathe," Reid trying to keep Luke away but the blond didn't care.

"Your point being," Luke said laughing and when Reid opened his mouth to retort back the blond took the opportunity to kiss the life out of his handsome doctor boyfriend. Reid finally gave in and kissed the younger man back.

Scenes flood around moving forward past Reid getting his job back, the Chris crisis, until it landed on the very last loving scene between the doctor and Luke from before he landed in the hospital.

"I love you," Reid said standing with his car door open and looked at Luke, "there I said it."

A kiss was exchanged between the two and Reid then left Luke in shock heading straight into danger.

It seemed like blackness surrounded him for hours after that but then the doctor heard voices, mostly Luke's, and knew the he was going back to his heart.

Pain flooded through him as Reid slowly opened his eyes trying to blink away the brightness from the lights. Reid's arms lay at his side and Luke was curled up asleep on his chest. Slowly after what seemed to take years, Reid tightly wrapped his arm around Luke's waist and let it stay that way, mostly because he didn't think that he could move it if he tried to. In that instant though, Luke woke and was confused at first that he looked around and upon feeling Reid's arm froze. Reid watched as brown eyes met his blue ones, and tears started falling from Luke and the blond threw his arms around Reid the best he could. Reid just tightened his hold because he didn't know how much strength he had to move his arm but the pain didn't matter because he was home with his heart.

A/N: This is the end of this story for many reasons. One being that I wanted to end it with something sweet and loving and this fit the bill. Two, I am so busy with school now that a lot of my stories will either be on hiatus or completed until I have time to work on them. Three, don't freak out about it ending here. There will be a sequel to this story, just be patient with me. Also I would like to thank everyone that has read and reviewed the story and I hoped you liked it.
