Hey guys, I'm back with a brand new story of Zeke and Luther. Faith777 asked me to write more stories so here it is. And don't worry, I'm going to finish the other ones.
"Hey, sleepy head! Wake up. It is fifteen past eight already." I opened my eyes as Ginger yelled at me. Wait, did she say fifteen past eight? Fuck, I'm late. Oh, sorry. I'm Zeke and I'm late as you can see. I'm working at Don's Donuts during my vacations to buy a new set of wheels for my skateboard. And believe me; they were getting more expensive in the last years. I can't ask my parents to buy it for me, because they say it's not school stuff. So, my last hope was to get a job and buy it on my own. I'm working there for almost a year and the money I've earned during this time wasn't enough to buy the wheels.
"Why didn't you call me earlier?" I asked Ginger while putting my jeans on. It's not the first time she does that. In fact, she does things to me that I really hate, like putting honey on my underwear, or changing the answers of my homework for me to get an F, or even setting internet dates using my name. In other words, she is the devil.
"I like to see you panic." She said turning around and smiling as I threw my pillow in her direction, but I missed her for a few inches. I quickly finished dressing and went downstairs to grab a banana to eat while going to work. I went as fast as I could, but like I told you earlier, the wheels of my skateboard were destroyed.
"Hi, Zeke." Oh and this girl who waved to me is Lisa Grubner. She has a crush on me since I can remember. She says that we are going to marry and live inside her dollhouse. So silly, she doesn't even suspect that I'm gay. Yeah, you heard me right. Zeke Falcone is gay and nobody suspects. I never kissed another boy, but I never felt anything for a girl either. The fact is: Everyone I know believes I'm the straightest guy ever and they say that the only reason that I don't have a girlfriend is because of the few options that Gilroy has to offer. I really believe that someday I will find the right person and broke this image of perfect guy.
When I finally got at the donut shop, Don was standing there looking at me with a not so friendly face. It was probable that he would fire me, and oh Lord, I didn't want it to happen.
"Zeke, you're late again. I'm going to let it pass just this time. Now go put your uniform. Soon the clients will be here and we have to be ready." Don told me as I sighed in relief. I quickly made my way over the bathroom and changed into my work's clothes.
The day went practically normal. Except for Lisa's visits to see me. She hates donuts. I still not believe that she keeps on paying for something that she knows perfectly well that she won't eat just to be close to me. For my luck, she had to help her mother with the shopping and that made me safe for at least a few hours.
Then, a group of students entered the donut shop and one of them really caught my eyes. He was two inches taller than me, gorgeous green eyes, slight red hair and a few freckles on his face making him even cuter. He was embraced with a guy much taller than him. This guy with him was holding him by the waist and placing kisses on the cheeks of the red haired guy. He was blond and had blue eyes. They looked like a couple between those people, changing affection gestures while they waited to be served. I realized that Olivia, my neighbor was in the group. There were other two girls and two boys which I never seen in my life. While I walked over their table, I couldn't stop looking at that boy:
"H-hi, welcome to Don's Donuts. Do you want to order now?" I asked taking the notepad from my pocket.
"Yes. I want a jelly donut and a banana smoothie. What do you want David?" The cute guy asked the boy beside him. They seemed very close. I just wanted to know his name.
"I want a Red Bull. But Luther, remember the party we have tonight, so try to not eat more than you should." David said and I was truly happy I discovered his name. And after taking notes of everybody's order I went over the kitchen and made the best banana smoothie and a fresh jelly donut and placed it with the other orders and went over their table. But I tripped on something and fell on the floor, dropping the tray. Everybody started laughing but Luther.
"David, you're so idiot. Why do you have to treat people like this?" Luther said and the others stopped laughing. He stooped down beside me and offered me his hand. "You're alright?"
I nodded as I held his hand and he pulled me up, helping me to get on my feet. He quickly gave me the tray with everything I let fall. And I was blushing! He was being so nice to me that I couldn't thank him because my tongue was stuck.
"And don't worry, I'll pay for everything. How much is it?" He asked me but before I could answer, David started talking.
"C'mon, Lulu, you've got to be kidding me! You are going to pay him? He let everything fall on the floor." That bastard said like it was all my fault.
"Yeah, just because you put your foot in front of him." Luther replied taking his wallet from his pocket. "Here's fifty bucks, man. You don't need to say anything. We're not going to frustrate you anymore."
He placed the bill inside my shirts pocket as he and his friends walked away. I felt a little sad for thinking that maybe we could never meet again. He is the guy I've been looking for my entire life. I just prayed that he would come back. I didn't even have the chance to introduce myself. I walked over the balcony, then to the bathroom. I slammed the door behind me and kicked the wall in anger.
"Fuck! You're so useless, Zeke. You just ruined everything. Now he must think you are an idiot." I said to myself while throwing water in my face. I looked at myself in the mirror and didn't like what I saw. "When will you stop being so coward and tell everybody about your secret?"
After the clients have gone away, I was cleaning the tables and still thinking about Luther. He was like a dream come true that everything I did wrong made it turn in a nightmare. If I only had a chance to see him again an try to work things out… then maybe, just maybe, I could have been happy for a little while.
Suddenly I heard a few knocks on the glass. Then lifted my eyes and found Luther standing there smiling for me. I went to the front door and unlocked it, letting him enter the donut shop.
"I came back because I forgot to apologize for what happened earlier. I'm sorry and don't care about my boyfriend. He said that you were looking at me that way as an excuse for what he did. And don't worry dude, I know you're not the type to be into boys." Luther said still smiling. Tell him that you're gay! Now! C'mon, what are you waiting for?
"Yeah, man, I'm not." What did you do? You're ruining everything again. Say something right this time! "But I don't have anything against gay people." Zeke, you're a lost cause.
"Thank God. I was afraid that you'd probably think of me as a freak." Luther confessed with his hands on his knees. "I really hope that we didn't cause you much trouble with your boss."
"Don't worry. I'm okay. You don't seem the type to hang out with that people." I asked and regretted instantly. He barely knows you and you think he will tell you about his life. He's the one who must think you're a freak!
"Yeah, sometimes I think of looking for nice people. David's very kind to me, but it's not worth it if he's arrogant and mean to other people, like he was to you." Luther said looking down. Man, he really cares about other people and he feels like he's guilty for what David does to other people.
"Don't worry. I can take care of myself." I flexed my arm for him and he giggled. Maybe he thinks my arms are too weak comparing to David's ones. What if I start working out? Maybe he would change his mind. "By the way, I'm Zeke Falcone."
"Luther Waffles. Dude! I must be delaying you with this conversation. Let me help you finish cleaning it." Luther said a little concerned about me. And I had to admit it was really cute.
"Relax. I finished cleaning already. I'm going home now. But I want to walk you home firstly. Where do you live?" I asked him and he gave me a questioning look. Did I say something wrong?
"Man, you don't need to. I don't live this far. You can go home. I'm okay." Luther said but I wasn't going to give up so easily.
"I insist. And walking around here at this hour is kinda dangerous." I said as a try to convince him to let me walk him home.
"Are you saying that you're going to protect me?" He asked and this question made me blush again. Maybe he suspects that I'm gay.
"Sort of." I answered gulping dryly. Say to someone that you care about his security is a little strange. "Why? Something's wrong about it?"
"No, it's just… Every man I met wants to protect me. I just can't figure out of what." He said smiling. How I wanted to punch each one who said that to Luther. I mean, I was supposed to be the first one to say that to him. Breathe, Zeke. You're being too possessive. He's not yours.
"Shall we go?" I asked him and he nodded in agreement. We made our way out of the shop and I locked the door.
"You have a skateboard? Man, this is so cool. Can you teach me how to ride one?" He said in ecstasy as we walked side by side. I nodded and he smiled. "What about tomorrow? It's Sunday and I don't have anything planned."
"Sure. Meet me at the ramps at nine. I don't have to work and it would be cool to teach you." I told him and he kissed my cheek. It was so sweet.
"Sorry. I forgot you're straight." He said in embarrassment as I put my hand above my recently kissed cheek.
"It's okay. I don't mind." I said still not realizing what it is that makes everyone thinks I'm straight! Man, this is so bothering me.
"I live here. Thanks for protecting me from 'I don't know what'. Good night man." Luther said to me entering his house as I waved goodbye. Once he was inside, I blew a kiss and nobody saw it. Turning around, I walked away looking behind until I couldn't see Luther's house anymore. And I couldn't wait for tomorrow morning…
