Disclaimer: Cloud Zack and Kunsel all belong to Square Enix, much to my regrets.
Notes: This is just silly crack, unrequited Kunsel/Zack longing and Clack friendship. Take it any way but seriously!
"Okay, you can leave now. Just take it easy," the white-coated official said briskly, already walking away from the bed. "A week's recuperation before any physical activity."
Zack, looking a little pale and weary, propped himself up on his elbows and smiled at Cloud. "Thanks, buddy."
"Nothing like a friend who's willing to give you half a pint of their blood in times of need. But man, I could have done without the mako injections."
Cloud laughed softly. "Do you need a hand?"
"I'm fine!" Zack chirped, swinging himself out of bed. He started to energetically power-walk out of the medical bay, but it didn't last for long – his lithe body crumpled gently like a fold-up table. Cloud managed to dash quickly underneath him and throw an arm around his waist, holding him up.
"Guh. Thanks," Zack muttered, putting a hand to his head.
"Just a little dizzy. I'll be right."
Cloud tightened his grip around Zack's waist and slung one of his friend's arms over his shoulders. "Come on, let's go back to the sleeping quarters. You need a rest."
They hobbled out of the white linoleum-floored room together, to be met promptly with a nervous-looking Kunsel.
"Zack!" he cried. "Are you okay? I heard you were seriously injured, I was so worried – "
Zack put on a brave injured-SOLDIER smile. "I'm fine. Just got some of Cloud's bodily fluids inside me, I'm better than ever." He winked cheekily.
"Zack!" Cloud squeaked, a blush spreading across his cheeks.
"Seeya, Kunsel! Come on, darling."
"You have a terriblesense of humour," the infantryman muttered as they wobbled their way down the corridors. "I think Kunsel was about to start crying."
Zack snickered. "He's a SOLDIER. He's used to pain. And heartbreak."
"Speaking of heartbreak, can you stop drinking all the orange juice? Sharing is caring."
"That doesn't classify as heartbreak."
"Your face doesn't classify as heartbreak."
"Shut up and recuperate, Zack."
The sounds of Zack calling Cloud affectionate cutesy names and the infantryman's protesting laughter continued all the way through the steel corridors, and left a poor Kunsel standing by the medical bay, his bunch of flowers lying limp and forgotten on the floor.
