A short poem to honour Remembrance Day. Not meant to make light of the sacrifices made by the veterans of past or present, just a way for me to express my feelings on what is always an emotional day for me.
I own nothing to do with SPN.
They bow their heads in silence,
Like they have each year before.
They pledge themselves to carry on,
Like those before them also swore.
To fight for those who cannot fight,
Whose voices have been suppressed.
To kill all of the evil beasts,
Is their one and only quest.
Although a different kind of soldier,
They fight for freedom still.
Because no man or creature,
Has the right to arbitrarily kill.
They may not wear a poppy,
Displayed upon their clothes.
But they will fight as others did,
To extinguish the vile we all oppose.
