I love Young Dracula. The new series is not disappointing to say the least. A short drabble about my fave pairing. CountPOV.
Our weakness is love.
It's my weakness – why I which I', became a vampire. I didn't know what she was, I didn't know that all she wanted was my lifeblood, and for her own vanity. I didn't know I would fall in love.
And here I am again.
I like to think the heart, as used by so many human playwrights and poets, is special for us vampires. Our weakness, to be destroyed by a stake through the heart, and perhaps to be seduced in the first place by love.
Here I am now, with my anatomical knowledge to tell her my heart beat has increased, and in truth there is a heightening intoxication in her presence. She smiles, and unlike those other dense peasants, she sees something… different in me.
There is a cruel irony beyond these ridiculous notions of love in this… I suppose you could call it a story I am reading. If she knew what I was, she would want to put a sharpened piece of stick right through my chest. And if she knew… The other, well… she couldn't, without me turning her into what I am, to remove the warmth of her skin, her sense of morality and wisdom, all the beautiful things that would not make her Ms Alex McCauley.
I could do neither.
So young, so innocent, so… beautiful.
Little did I know.
Please review. :)
