The village was almost completely abandoned when Berry arrived. No… Berry thought, thinking it was too late. But then he saw his father tied up not far away.

"Father!" Berry called, running up to him and starting to free him of his bonds.

"Berry?" Ipana tried to confirm.

"Yeah, are you okay?" Berry asked, throwing the ropes away.

"I'm fine, but Bardock…" Ipana's voice trailed off. Berry followed his gaze. He saw Chilled standing on Bardock's back, pounding his face into the ground.

"Mr. Bardock!" Berry was shocked.

"Heh. I had thought that when I finally met the person who had been killing my men, I would've actually had a challenge. Normally, I would try to recruit you, and believe me, I've given some thought to it…" Chilled smirked. He charged up a blast in his hand and held it over his head.

"…But you'd be better off dead!" Chilled declared. Berry ran toward Chilled.

"Stop it!" Berry shouted. Chilled shifted his gaze to small alien child running at him.

"Get lost!" Chilled snarled, flinging the blast at Berry. It was a direct hit. Ipana fell to his knees.

"Berry! No!" Ipana sobbed. Chilled chuckled. Bardock was speechless.

"What garbage. What was he going to do? Poke me?" Chilled mocked. Chilled through one last kick into Bardock before walking over to Berry and flipping him over. Berry was barely breathing.

"I'm amazed you're still alive," Chilled remarked. Bardock struggled to his feet. I'm pathetic. I can't stop him. Like before. I couldn't stop Dodoria from slaughtering my men. I couldn't stop Frieza from destroying Vegeta. And I couldn't stop Chilled from hurting Berry. If only I were stronger… Bardock thought. He remembered the look on Frieza's face. That mocking look he had. He didn't stand a chance against Frieza. He felt the anger fill up in him. Power surged through him. His aura turned golden. Chilled turned toward him. His power created a freak wind and an earthquake. A fissure split open behind Bardock. His hair rose. It changed color. His hair was sticking up and was a golden color. Chilled stepped back. The wind died down and the earthquake stopped. This power… I feel… different… Bardock thought.

"What the hell happened? What did you do?" Chilled growled. Bardock looked him straight in the eye.

"There is no fucking way I'll ever forgive you!" Bardock roared. Chilled shook his head and grinned.

"So, just because you switched to blonde, you suddenly have the power to defeat me? Hah!" Chilled laughed. Bardock didn't reply. Chilled charged forward and threw a punch straight at him. Bardock didn't even flinch. Bardock grabbed Chilled's arm and threw him behind him. Chilled landed on his feet. He charged again and sent a barrage of legs at Bardock. Bardock wasn't scratched. Bardock turned around and sent a look that shot fear through Chilled. Chilled back up. His snarl turned into laughter as he rose into the air and sent a volley of ki blasts down at Bardock. The blasts created a shockwave that knocked all the villagers off their feet. They all screamed in terror. After it was all over, Chilled had used a considerable amount of ki. He looked at the smoke pile he had created.

"Turning blonde doesn't change a damn thing, your still the same weakling I massacred earlier!" Chilled laughed. Bardock still stood after the smoke cleared. Chilled's face dropped.

"Wh-what? H-how did you… what are you?" Chilled squeaked.

"I thought I was just an ordinary Saiyan," Bardock replied.

"Saiyan? What the hell is a Saiyan?" Chilled asked.

"But I'm not a Saiyan. Not anymore," Bardock continued. He knew what he was now.

"I'm a Super Saiyan," Bardock finished, powering up and starting to walk toward Chilled. Chilled stepped back but shook his head again.

"I won't except this! I am the mighty Space Pirate Chilled! There isn't supposed to be anyone stronger than I!" Chilled complained. Chilled smiled.

"But that doesn't matter now…" Chilled snickered. A ball of ki appeared in his hands. he flew up into the air.

"As far as I care, you can all burn in Hell!" Chilled laughed, releasing the giant blast unto the planet.

"You're wrong Chilled. We won't burn in Hell…" Bardock replied, charging up his Final Spirit Cannon in his right hand. His Super Saiyan powers amplified it's power one hundred-fold.

"…You will!" bardock roared, throwing the blast at Chilled's beam. The Final Spirit Cannon flew through Chilled's ki like a hot knife through butter.

"No! It's not possible, I am the Great-" Chilled was interrupted by Bardock's Final Spirit Cannon hit him straight on. He screamed as the blast carried him out into space. Bardock stood in the same place, looking up at the sky. The villagers started to come out. they all looked at Bardock. They all smiled.

"He… he did it. He actually did it!" the village elder laughed. The villagers came out of hiding and ran towards Bardock.

"Mr. Bardock!" a voice called from behind Bardock. Bardock turned around and saw Berry running toward him, completely fine. Ipana was behind him with an empty light blue jar. Bardock felt tears well up in his eyes. And for the first time since he last saw his men alive, Bardock smiled.

Meanwhile, out in space. Chilled's unconscious body floated in nothingness. His ship floated in front of him.

"I've found Lord Chilled, and he's still giving off vital signals!" a soldier reported. The captain ran up behind him.

"Well, what the hell are you waiting for? Retrieve him!" the captain ordered.

Once they got Chilled into the ship and into the ICU, Chilled opened his eyes. The captain leaned over him.

"Lord Chilled… what happened to you?" the captain asked. Chilled reached up and ripped off his breathing mask.

"Tell my son to beware a being… that has power that goes… called a… Super Saiyan…" Chilled rasped. Chilled closed his eyes and died.
