The woman made of light quietly walked into the room and sat down. I took the time to observe her.

She looked foreign. Her hair was white and flowed down to her knees, her skin was the color of milk, and her eyes could be compared to the sky. The dress she wore looked like it was woven out of pure white. She sat down in front of us and began her story.

"When I was human," She started. "I was the daughter of a poor merchant in what you now call Scotland. According to many suitors, I was beautiful and they were willing to ignore my lower class in order to have me as their wife. But I did not want too be wedded off, so I ran away. After a few months of travelling from town to town on what little food I had, I accidentally stumbled off a cliff. And I died." I caught the sight of a tear flowing down her cheek. "As I felt the blackness consume me, I heard a voice asking me if I would like to live." She swiped her tear away. "I was only sixteen at the time. I was young and foolish and said yes. And when I opened my eyes, I was no longer a human. I was a Spirit King. It was explained to me that as a Spirit King of Light, I could have anyone as my champion. And so I chose only those with pure hearts, who proved to be unselfish and caring." She shook her head. "Unfortunately, as civilization was discovering greed and wealth, the number of people with pure hearts started to wither and soon there was not a complete pure soul to be found. And I had no practitioner to my name. So I asked the Water King to wipe out every human on earth, except for a very few who could still be saved."

"The tale of Noah's Arc." Kazuma realized.

Hikari nodded. "Yes. The poor man thought I was someone named God." She chuckled and shook her head. "But no matter what he thought me to be, he complied with my wishes, gather two of every animal and all of his relatives, and build a boat. An arc. When he completed it, the Water King drowned the entire world, giving birth to a new world."

"But what does that have to do with this battle?" Huang asked.

"There are no more pure souls in this world anymore. They have all been sired by greed, unhappiness and malice. I am looking for a practitioner to carry my element."

"Then why have us go through this infernal contest!" I shouted. "Its ruined my life, the Earth King has taken Huang's fiancée, Kazuma could be in danger..."

"It is not only a chance for me to have champion again, but for a chance to prove your worth."

"What do you mean?"

"The Spirit Kings have decided to hold a battle between all the elements to prove which clan from which element is the strongest. The winner's clan shall receive my blessings, as well as the blessings of all the Spirit Kings.
