YAY! I finally posted my first chapter of my first story! Please review and enjoy!

A painful groan resounded through Boo Woods. Around the center of this dreadful forest, a young man came back from the depths of unconsciousness. He groaned again as he reached up to rub his sore head. This young man's memory was very foggy but he finally picked up two words that he figured were his name. Luigi Mario.

Yes, that was his name. He finally remembered. Luigi tried to sit up, but cried out when a jolt of pain shot across his chest. He slumped back down to the ground, finally realizing the open wound on his chest. He looked down to see three, long, bloody, deep cuts running across his chest diagonally. Then the memory came flooding back to him.

Earlier that day…

"Hand over the princess, you fiend!" Mario shouted. Bowser had kidnapped Princess Peach again and Mario and Luigi had gone to save her. They stood in front of Bowser's throne in a fighting stance, ready for anything, or at least Mario was. Luigi was scared to death.

"What? You think I'm going to just hand her over?" Bowser smirked. He held a rope-bound Princess Peach in his hands. He set the princess down and grabbed a lever to his right. Luigi cowered behind Mario as Bowser pulled the lever and a giant b-bomb was lowered from the ceiling.

Mario jumped back and bumped into Luigi. Luigi yelped and fell down, surprised.

"Get up, Luigi!" Mario shouted, pulling his little brother to his feet again. Bowser laughed as Luigi stood, shaking in his boots.

"What's wrong, Green 'Stache?" Bowser taunted, sneering. Mario stepped forward to protect Luigi, who had pulled his hat down over his eyes in fear.

"His name is Luigi!" Mario growled. He ran towards Bowser and attempted a quick uppercut to his jaw, but Bowser grabbed him by the arm in an iron grip hold.

"Hey!" Mario shouted. "Let go!" Bowser grinned and tightened his hold. Mario could feel his arm losing feeling. Luigi gasped as a crimson red substance started to stain Mario's already red sleeve. He took a deep breath, swallowed his fears, and then charged straight at Bowser.

Bowser must have anticipated this move because he reached out with the arm that wasn't holding onto to Mario and lashed out at Luigi with sharp claws. The blow caught him in the chest and he flew backwards a few yards. He lay on the ground, immobilized by pain and fear.

Mario, now overcome with grief for his brother, kicked Bowser in the gut. Bowser cried out in pain and dropped Mario. Mario immediately ran towards Luigi, who was crying softly.

"It's okay Luigi! I'm here, it's okay," Mario consoled.

"Go get the princess," Luigi managed to get out. "I'm okay." Mario glanced back and saw Princess Peach still sitting on the ground. Mario hated to leave Luigi when he was in this state, but he did need to get the princess. He lightly brushed Luigi's forehead with his gloved hand, then turned to go help the princess. Then, he noticed the b-bomb.

It was pacing the floor, and it was blinking red. Mario gasped and raced for the princess. He grabbed her by the hand then raced back to Luigi, but he didn't get there on time. The b-bomb had walked over to Luigi, then, it blew up.

Mario raised his hands for cover, Princess Peach used her parasol, Bowser pulled into his shell, but Luigi was helpless. The blast fired him through the air and he lost consciousness.

Back to the Present…

Luigi remembered everything now. He closed his eyes and wished that Mario were there. He knew Mario would know what to do to make the pain stop. Darkness was tugging at the edge of Luigi's vision now and he was slowly losing consciousness again. He mustered up all the energy he had left to yell one word.

"MARIOOOOO!" Luigi yelled, and then everything went black.
