Chapter 1
"I made it, I made it!" Gwen Jones ran into her Hackney flat. Thomas "Tom" Jones, her father, beamed at his daughter, and pulled her into a hug. It was so fierce; the letter held in Gwen's hand had been all but crushed.

Suddenly, the flat door burst open and Elyan "Elliot," Jones, Gwen's older brother entered. He threw his keys on the counter, "Sorry I'm late. Sid kept me late. Someone has been stealing all the tips." He suddenly noticed the crushed letter in Gwen's hand. "Is it?" She nodded. Elliot grinned, and opened his arms wide, letting his sister run wildly into them.
Tom smiled as he watched his son and daughter hug. "This calls for a celebration," he grinned toothily, "How does Thai sound, Gwen? I know it's your favourite." Gwen gasped. They never ordered take-out. It was way too expensive, "No. I'll pay for it. It's my celebration; you need the money, Dad."
Her father laughed, "Nonsense, Gwen. I'm paying. End of story." Gwen tried to argue, but still ended up sitting on her kitchen table with Tom and Elliot eating Thai.
"Your mother would have been proud," Tom told his daughter.
Gwen smiled. University would be fun. But what she didn't know was that it was going to be fateful.
Good? Bad? Should I continue?
Peace be with you xxx
P.S I am so looking forward to the Sword in the Stone P.1 tomorrow!
