Serdin~ Grand Chase Castle~ Hall~ Third person POV
"Sorry..." the female elf tucks a piece of golden hair behind her ear. Her green (A/N: Are Lire's eyes green or brown? If you look at her pictures, their green. But her GC thing has brown eyes.) eyes stare at the person standing before her. It's a male elf, with orange gravity deifying hair. His green eyes are shocked, and he's just standing there.
"But..Lire..." He opens his mouth to speak. The female elf looks down.
"we had plans..." he trails off.
"I know..Ryan, I'm sorry..but I have to go visit my grandmother..this is very important!" She says. Her eyes are full of hope, as if somehow Ryan would understand her.
"..." Ryan looks down. Lire can't see his eyes. She wishes she could, for when he spoke his voice was emotionless and it was impossible to hear any hint of emotion from it.
"Fine. Have fun." With those words spoken, he turned and headed down the hall. Lire stands there, staring after him.
"Bye, Ryan. See you next year..." She says, looking down. Her hand closes around the merry Christmas necklace Ryan gave her as she stares at his back, growing smaller and smaller with every passing second, every stomp taken on the polished wood floor.
Serdin~ Airplane~ Lire POV
The pictures are in my hand, and in my head. My family. My friends. In just a day, I'd be back in Eryuell. I'd be able to see the place of my birth, where I grew up. I'd meet all my old school teachers, my friends, my family. Everyone that I'd known and loved.
So why didn't I feel happy?
I guess it was because I was guilty of leaving Ryan to spend his Christmas alone. I wish I could of taken him along, but the elders mentioned only me, and who was I to question their judgement and choice?
I knew that I could still phone him, and use magic. But it wouldn't be the same. I wondered if he was mad at me. I smile. He was just such a kid sometimes...
What was I worried about? After all, after I came back to Serdin, after Ryan had glared at me a couple of times, I was sure things would go back to the way it was. All I was asking for was one holiday to spend with my family. That wasn't much, right? Ryan would understand in time.
For now...I lay back into the comfortable chair and relax. "What do I have to worry about? Its not like he has a grudge against me, and if he does, it won't last forever, right?" I smile to myself.
Time to relax and enjoy my wonderful life.
Serdin~ Grand Chase Castle~ Third Person POV
It was the day of the Christmas dinner. Lire had left a day earlier, and no one had seen much of the grumpy Ryan. Finally, this morning, he had stopped out, spreading gloominess everywhere.
"Morning, Ryan!" Ronan, as cheerful as ever, had said.
"Eh." He'd just grumbled back. He knew this behaviour was very weird of him, but he wanted to spend one Christmas with his girlfriend. Was that so much to ask? Could he not enjoy even one Christmas?
"Ryan! Good morning~!" Amy had skipped out.
"Get out of my way." Shoving his hands in his pockets, he walked past Amy, bumping into her on the way.
"Whoa, attitude." Lass had come up. Normally, Ryan would of took Lass's spot, and Lass, Ryan's. But today was a special day. Perhaps good in a way for others, but bad for Ryan.
"Whatever. At least Arme's here for your Christmas." Ryan glares at the purple mage, humming happily.
"Whats got you?" Jin asks. "I don't like having such gloom on the honourable day of the Sliver Knight's death." He glares.
"Nothing. Just leave me alone!" He stomps away to his room again, even though he just came out of it.
In his room, he realizes its covered in photos of him and Lire.
"What use is it now? She's gone." He grabs the Santa hat sitting on his bed. "She doesn't care about me. She picked her grandmother over me!" He throws the hat onto the ground and sits down on his bed, arms crossed.
Pretty soon his sitting position is turned to a lying position. He looks out the window, and sees the falling snow drifting down.
"Bah. Snow. I hate it." He grumbles, remembering how cold it was when he went outside, even as a wolf.
"I want sun! Why can't anything go as I want?" he shouts at the ceiling. It provides no answer, just deadly white silence.
"UGH." he grabs something nearby—which happens to be a pillow—and throws it at the ceiling.
Deep down, he knows he's behaving like a little child. But he ignore the voice that says it. Giving in to greed, he want to have a happy Christmas. He want everything to go the way he wants. What he wants is for Lire to forget her friends and family and spend time with him and the Grand Chase. After all, weren't they her new friends and family? She only needed them.
Ryan knew, deep down, in his heart of hearts, that he was being unfair. He was being a little child, he was being selfish, he was being the worst person on the face of Earth. Yet, did he care? Christmas, it was a important time to be with friends and family.
His phone rang. Grabbing it and looking, it said: Lire.
He flipped it open. It was a text message.
I'm at Eryuell :) How's your day going?
She was sounding so happy and cheerful. He could see it, even if it was just a text message. He texted back:
Ignored.
Then, he flipped the cover back on and set it down beside him on the table. Sighing, he rolled over. Might as well take a nap. He thought.
/
"Ryan!~" Arme's voice calls though his door as she raps on it. He opens one eye, angry at being awakened.
"What?" He calls back.
"The Christmas dinner is beginning! Hurry." With those words, she turns around. Ryan can hear her soft footsteps fade away.
He grumbles and gets up slowly. "Why does the stupid Christmas dinner have to be today, right now? All I wanna do is sleep." He sighs to himself and stares at his phone, lying perfectly still. He takes it and checks it.
NO NEW MESSAGES.
Silence. Ryan stares at it. His bright green eyes show no emotion, but inside he's broken.
"Fine." he says coldly at the phone. "I don't want any messages, anyway!" With that, he slams the phone onto the table, not even thinking of how it might be damaged and he'd have to pay to get it fixed and that would result in Lire getting mad at him.
Lire, Lire, Lire. Was that all he thought of? How annoying. He made up his mind. He'd prove that he could live without Lire, could be happy on Christmas without her.
Oh, who was he kidding? He needed her here right now.
But she had picked her grandmother over him.
His hand opens the door, and he takes a step outside, running these strands of thought in and out of his mind, again and again.
Before he can actually walk to join his friends, he's bumped into by the normally calm and mature spell knight of the Chase: Ronan.
Today, however, the knight's normally cheerful indigo eyes were hurt and brimming with tears. His face was red, his mouth stuck in a frown. His footsteps were stormy, and he glared at Ryan as if it was Ryan's fault that Ronan had bumped into him in the first place. Perhaps it was the tension in the air, but for some reason that glare made Ryan snap.
"Fine...I'm just invisible, right?" He shouts at Ronan's back, growing smaller and smaller. Ronan didn't even stop, and that angered Ryan more.
"YOU ALWAYS TREAT ME LIKE THAT!" It felt good to let all his bottled anger out, even if it was on his friends. Something inside urged him to keep going. "ALL OF YOU! YOU NEED ME, THEN YOU THROW ME AWAY! YOU CHOOSE YOUR GRANDMOTHER OVER ME!" He shouts at the poor air. The room suddenly is dead quiet, and everyone's just watching him.
Whatever. It's not like they actually see him. He can bet their seeing though him, wondering of what wonderful moments lay ahead, not caring that Ryan would be alone this season of love.

(Time Skip till after Christmas Dinner and exchanging gifts...the Christmas dinner/exchanging gifts is in ArmeXLass Christmas and its a waste of space to copy/paste it here..)
Serdin~ Grand Chase Castle~ Living Room~ Beside the Window~ Ryan POV
A song of sadness. Can you forgive me, my love? Can you hear my prayer, my sorrow? Can you feel it somehow, can you realize I'm so sorry?
No. I know she can't. She can I are far away from each other, yet right now I feel bonded with her. Arme's words struck my heart and snapped my mature side back. Who was I being? What was I being?
A terrible, terrible waste of space, that was what. I felt so sorry.
My voice lifts into the air, I hope it reaches the moon and Lire, somehow. Can she hear me, see how sad I am?
I finish my song with a last echoing note that wavers in the air. It drifts down slowly, and disappears. The Grand Chase sits there, unsure of what to do. I sigh, and pad out, still in my wolf form. I want to go back to my room, to shrink into a pit of sadness and guilt.
Inside my room, I notice my cellphone.
ONE NEW MESSAGE
I turn back to my human form, and flip the lid open. I see that it's from Lire.
Good news! I'm flying back to Serdin tomorrow :) See you then.
I guessed she meant for those words to calm me, to make me realize she still loves me. For a moment, I do think that. But then I realize what's happening. How huge of a sacrifice she was doing. Picking her family over me.
I'm torn. I want her to be here with me, but I don't want to selfishly take her away from the people and place of her childhood, of all her good times and memories.
My hair covers my eyes as I text back. I'm glad no one can see.
Don't. Its fine :) Just stay there. I don't mind. See you next year.
I close the lid, and sit on my bed. Perhaps, just perhaps, that good deed would cover for all my selfish thinking and actions? I reminded myself to have a chat with Ronan later, and be forever in debut with the Chase for treating them like that and shouting.
I owed Arme big time. Next holiday, I'd make sure she was in heaven.
I lay on my bed. I hope Lire's happy.
I know I am.
Kind of.
Serdin~ Streets~ Ryan POV
Its so chilly. I'm walking in the streets of town, just to see what's selling.
"Sir, would you like to buy this?" A random shopkeeper walks up. He looks cold. He's holding a very old book, some of the pages are even falling out, and the cover is torn.
"No..no thanks." I say. The hurt is in the man's face, but he places it down and gets out of my way. Just then, the only word I can make out on the cover catches my eye.
Spells.
"Wait a second..." The shopkeeper's head snaps up. "I changed my mind. Can I see that?"
He hands it to me. I flip though it carefully. Soon I realize that it's a very old spellbook of some sorts.
Perfect for a certain mage that changed me.
Smiling, I hand it back to the shopkeeper and get out my wallet.
"How much for it?" I ask, holding out some bills.
The shopkeeper seems stunned. He doesn't know what the book is. He says a small fee, but I pay more than needed.
"keep the change." I saw, smiling. "Merry Christmas." Picking up the book, I start home.
It looks like this Christmas won't be so bad, after all.
OAO how short..I'm sorry..I couldn't think of anything to add to it, but I think its pretty sweet..
First time writing in Ryan POV ... Sorry if I suck xD
Anyways, as I said, review and rate, and don't forget to vote on my newest poll! =3
