I woke up, getting out of bed when I saw the time on my clock. I stretched my arms, yawning as I stood up.
"Rainbow!" my father called "The school bus is coming at eight! Hurry up and have breakfast!"
I yawned again, going out of my room.
"Good morning, Rainbow," Melody murmured as she came out of her room.
I smiled.
"Morning, Melody," I greeted.
Melody Murphy was my younger sister. She has red hair with black highlights, styled by herself and she has our father's turquoise eyes. We went down the stairs to the first floor of our home.
"Come on, Luke!"
"I'm coming, Zack!"
The twins barged in front of us and ran down to the ground floor. Melody sighed and shook her head.
"They're so rude," she murmured.
Luke and Zack are our younger brothers. They too had turquoise eyes along with blonde hair. They wore the exact same clothes specifically so we mixed them up. I found a way to identify them though. Luke was shy, like Melody and I, and Zack was the one who shouted the most. But apart from the times when Zack's leading, everyone mixes them up and that's how the twins liked it. As we went downstairs, chess pieces were scattered on the floor.
"Confound it!"
I winced. Father had lost another chess match. Melody walked out of the living room, ignoring him. I followed her and we picked up a plate of waffles each. Sitting around the dining room, I looked around.
"Where's Veronica?"
Our elder sister. Melody frowned.
"She must be sleeping in," she suggested.
"Pfft," I scoffed rolling my eyes "That's just like her."
Half an hour later, I was outside her room, knocking on her door.
"Come on, Veronica!" I called.
"Go away, freak!"
I sighed. She never liked Melody and I for some reason.
"You'll be late for school!"
"I don't want to go to school!"
Sighing again, I leaned on the wall.
"Alright then," I acted "I will go to school with Melody and we'll be sure to find two nice, lovely boyfriends…"
"I'm getting up!"
I smirked. Veronica absolutely wanted to be the first person to have a boyfriend. She stormed out and ran downstairs, stomping so hard, I bounced. Despite Mother's attempts to keep her in shape, Veronica became a fat, lazy couch potato. I didn't exercise often, but I kept a balanced diet. Melody and Zack are the only children who have come out athletic. I heard the bus hoot its horn and ran downstairs. I overtook Veronica easily and slipped out of the door and onto the bus. I sat down next to Melody who scooted over to the window. Zack and Luke sat behind us, giggling and whispering to one another. I rubbed the back of my neck and lay back on my seat when the bus began to move. Well, here comes another week of school.
