Chapter 2: Making Up

Later on that evening, Dex entered Beary's room.

"Hey, Beary," Dex greeted.

"What do you want, Dex? I thought you were still mad at me, the same way I felt towards you."

"Yeah, well, I just wanted to say that..." Dex said as he sat down with his brother, "I'm sorry for what I said to you today."

"Ohh..." Beary said with a sigh, "That's okay. Besides, we're brothers. That's what brothers do. They fight, then they make up."

"That sure is true," Dex said. "So... truce?" he asked, extending his hand for a handshake.

After a moment, Beary replied, "Truce," and shook Dex's hand.

"Come here, bro," said Dex as he pulled Beary in for a hug. Some tears were starting to fill their eyes a little.

"I love you, Beary. No matter what."

"I love you too, Dex," Beary answered, his voice sounding kinda shakey as he was crying.

Later on, at dinner...

"Mom! Dad! Did you hear that the Country Bears are having another song titled Claws? Man, I really love that!"

"Great," said his parents.

"What do you think, Dex?" Beary asked his brother. "And please, do not say anything mean."

"I..." Dex stuttered, he looked at his father (who was about to hit him if he tried anything), "I think that it's..."

Beary got up to hear what Dex was about to say, and his mom and dad followed suit.

"It's awesome, Beary."

"Thank you, Dex. I really appreciate that," Beary said.

"Me too," said his mom.

"Thanks for that, son," his dad said to Dex, patting him on the back.

Then the family continued to finish their dinner.
