From the diary of Alonso Quijano

To be or not to be: such is the true

Inquiry of mankind. Is't then braver

To fall to the alter of cogent rue

Or rush to honor without such haver?

Reason is the best of death, and errant

Is the worst of reason, not thus distilled.

Away this death! These dreams alive daren't;

But dreams! Do they away be they fulfilled?

That is why we live; to dream! I suffer

Where injustice, and my Aldonza reign!

Why defer it? With the astral proffer—

A dream smelled and tasted; this puzzle lain!

Thought leaves it virgin with a willful vow.

Behold valor! I am Quixote now!
