Eddie's Ego

The sky outside was dark; the windows were misted over by the winter world out there. Inside was no warmer than the outside, even the way Rich cooked the dinner showed his distaste for Eddie and his new girlfriend.

"Shall I leave?" she whispers into Eddie's ear and he shakes his head and whispers back

"Nah, he'll get over it eventually" He winks "And be quiet, when Richie's angry he gets the hearing of a bat, and the eye sight of an eagle"

"Alright Eddie, you don't need to over exaggerate" Rich says flamboyantly shaking his head "I've told you a million times not to exaggerate" He says, smiling slightly. The girlfriend laughs and the smile falls from his face. Hours of awkward silence pass and the lady decides she'd had enough of disguised glares from the other side of the table; she kisses Eddie goodbye and leaves the flat.

"Well thank you Rich! You couldn't have been civil for just a few hours could you?" Eddie yells at Richie who winces slightly, but continues with his tidying up as if he wasn't bothered.

"I cooked you dinner didn't I?" He snaps back

"If you could call it that yeah, you did" Eddie says, lifting a bit of blackened food off his plate and holding it up to Rich who rolls his eyes and snatches the plate from him.

"Look I don't know what your problem is Eddie, it's not like you care about her anyway!"

"I wanted to get laid!" Eddie screams back, and Rich flinches visibly "What is your problem with me dating someone?"

"I...I don't have a problem with that...I have a problem with having to cook for them" Richie lies, and Eddie knows he lies. A smug smile spreads across his face.

"You fancy me don't you" He teases. Rich blushes and looks away, and Eddie is slightly taken aback because he didn't expect his tease to be true. "I knew it!" He declares, smirking at his blushing flat mate. Rich continues scrubbing the plates "I knew you couldn't resist" He flicks his head as if he has hair to flick "My charms." Rich rolls his eyes and slaps his face with the dirty cloth. "Ah, now you want me wet!" He smirks and Rich goes a brilliant shade of beetroot.

"Please leave me alone" He says, rushing to his room

"Hey Rich, want me to join you" He winks, running up after him.

"Your ego is making me feel less and less inclined towards you. In fact I don't fancy you anymore."

"Yes you do!"

"No I don't you pig" Eddie laughs

He arrives next to Rich who spins on his heel and pulls Eddie into a kiss. Eddie, blown away, nearly falls to his knees
"Good night Eddie" Rich says with a smug smirk.
