The plot bunnies attack once more. This is what I get for watching survival horror game playthroughs *shivers*.
Mostly RM 1 with some RM2 and 3 characters making appearances.
I don't own anything.
He ran.
His lungs burned and his muscles protested from the exhertion he had subjected them to, but he stubbornly refused to stop running. His sister's scream of "Get out!" had been the reason for his flight. He didn't know if his other brothers and sisters had managed to get away either.
Where were they?
Were they... No. They couldn't have been, they can't be. Not like big sister. Her pretty red hair bleeding all across the floor, her eyes staring at him, begging him and his other siblings to run. And now... they were separated.
In the building they called their home. Had the apartment complex always been such a maze? He spun around wildly. Where was the exit? The exit was here, right?
Screeeeee.
He froze.
Screeeee.
Sweat dripped down his cheek and rolled down the length of his chin. Skin grew pale and pupils dilated in fear. The horrid shadow was close by. He scrambled further into the darkness, his hands clawing wildly for the feeling of cool brass. Fingers wrapped around a handle and pulled. He pulled himself inside and shut he door behind him.
The room was dark, lit only by the light of the moon. He tried to breath, to will his body to stop shaking. His heart pounded in his heaving chest and he crawled towards the moon light. He sobbed and curled up tightly.
Go away.
The door knob rattled.
Go away.
It rattled even more violently.
Leave me alone!
It snapped off with a loud clang. His breath hitched and he stared into the black abyss. The black shadow appeared in the doorway. He shifted backwards when it stepped forward and his back slammed against the wall. Tears dripped down his face as the shadow stained with the blood of big sister came even more closer. Bloody hands reached for him and he bolted for the open door. He felt the sticky liquid on his neck from where the hands had tried to grab him.
And he ran once more. Silent footsteps following him as he tried to get away. They didn't lessen nor get any closer.
He rounded another corner and stopped, eyes going wide, face twisting in horror. Ashen bodies laid on the ground, their life blood flowing from their bodies. A stuffed Ratwiggle with its stuffing falling out was at his feet. He backed away and bumped against something. Whipping around, he screamed and backed away and tripped on one of the bodies. He fell into the sticky liquid and tried to get away.
The hand reached for him.
"N-NOOOOO! GUEDE, WIDDERSHIN, KATHRINE, HELP!"
His cries echoed through the concrete halls of the apartment. Then everything became silent.
The next morning, yellow caution tape surrounded the entire perimeter of the apartment. Police sirens wailed and cops kept the surrounding crowd of curious bystanders at bay. The investigator took a long drag from his cigarette and breathed out deeply. The sounds of cameras flashing were all around him.
"Well?" he asked gruffly, "What do we have?"
"A family, sir," one of the younger cops said as he read over the notes he'd taken, "They had been living here fo three months, the eldest was eighteen. No parents or relatives to speak of."
The investigator nodded and walked closer to the covered bodies. There was dried blood everywhere and it was rank of rust and iron. He pulled back one of the sheets and stared. He sighed heavily in disgust and sadness, "What kind of monster would do this?"
Glassy amber eyes were hidden from view as the tarp was bulled back over once more.
End prologue.
