TIDYING UP

Some things feel like they should take longer.

"Dean, I can do this. You don't have to be here."
"Yes I do. I'm fine."
"I know you are….I'm just saying."
Sam looked around, sadness and anger jockeying for pole position within him,
"It shouldn't take long."
"Whatever time it needs."

Their task complete, Sam and Dean stood awhile, taking stock of the few storage boxes they had filled.
Sam sighed, combing fingers through his hair,
"The fire wrecked nearly everything."
Dean nodded,
"Still….this was Bobby. What he meant? It shouldn't fit into so few boxes."

Dean felt the touch of Sam's hand on his shoulder.
They stood, silent...
