"Ok Lily, truth or dare?"

I grinned at my best friend as I helped myself to an éclair that we stole earlier from the kitchen. Me and the other 7th year Gryffindor girls had this planned all summer. First weekend back from summer, we said, that's when we'll have a slumber party. Well, it was our last ever year at Hogwarts.

"Umm" said the red head, for one of the few times in her life, was unsure "Truth?"

"Ohhh, check out the Head Girl. Stopped being crazy now you're in charge?" laughed Alice, causing the rest of us to join in. Lily glared at us, but we all got the joke. Lily had never even gotten a detention, let alone gotten 'crazy' as Alice had put it.

"Oh shut it" snapped Lily, but I could at least tell from her eyes that she knew no harm was meant.

"Lily, why haven't you ever said yes to Potter?" asked Marlene, throwing her golden curls behind her shoulder. Marlene had just transferred from Beauxbatons this summer, so didn't know the full Lily-James love/hate story as well as the rest of Hogwarts. And Hogsmeade probably. Me, Alice, Emily and Annabelle sighed melodramatically, making a scene about making ourselves comfortable. Again, the orange one glared.

"Well, Marlene, Potter is an arrogant, bullying toe rag who thinks that he's talented in every single thing that's possible and the only reason that he pays any attention to me is because I'm the only one who refuses to play along with his little games" Lily said in one breath. Quite impressive, I thought. What was equally impressive however is during Lily's speech, Alice sat behind her, mimicking all her words, body language and facial features. All of us tried to stifle our laughter with pillows.

I breathed deeply calming myself down "Lily, he is my cousin. I've grown up with him, he's a really good guy actually" Repeating the words James insisted I said to Lily as soon as I could without arousing suspicions with her. Lily laughed.

"So, darling Rose Violet Potter, how long did it take for you to remember that before saying it to me?" I rolled my eyes. I hated being full-named by Lily, but she normally did that when she knew I was right about something

"Lily Mare Pot- I mean Evans" I grinned as she gave me one of the best death glares I've seen for a while. "I just think it's true anyway"

"If you two are quite finished" muttered Annabelle. Annabelle had wide grey eyes with a ditzy personality when it came to a lot of things, which was most noticeable in Potions. But when it came to peace making, she could rival Remus. I smiled at her before throwing a pillow at her and Lily.

"If she shuts up about her stupid cousin"

"If she admits she has feelings for said stupid cousin"

"But I don't though"

"But you do"

"I think I know my mind slightly better than you do"

"Really Lils? Because I really don't think you do"

"What do you mean?"

"Well said stupid cousin is now Head Boy" She blushed and muttered something "Sorry" I asked cupping my ear "Didn't hear that love"

"Girls" yelled Alice "Please? Let's have one day that doesn't end in an argument". Alice blew some of her dark hair out of her round, kind face. Alice looked like the everyday nice girl, the one who wouldn't hurt a fly. However, she had a streak in her which made Alice a true Gryffindor at heart. It made Alice fiercely protective of anyone she loved and exceptionally brave.

"Fine" muttered Lily, enjoying the argument as much as I was. I smiled at the red head mouthing the words 'I win' and beginning to breakdown in a victory dance. It was my turn to receive a pillow in the face.

"OI!" I yelled hitting her back with a pillow. Suddenly, the room was covered in the feathers of 10 pillows, as all of used as a weapon against the other girls.

After around 10 minutes, Emily stood up "Ok, that's enough of these childish games" she mused, brushing feathers from her hair and outfit. Emily was the kill joy of the group, but was unwaveringly loyal to everyone in this room. She was also very, very smart. Perfect straight O student. And perfect to look at. Emily had straight black hair that was chopped in to a boyish cut framing her oval face and thick lashes around her deep, chocolate brown eyes. And to top off this look of perfection, the perfect figure. I smiled at her, envy clutching my heart.

"Fine Emmy" I said, breathless from the fight. She sighed at my stupid nickname but sat back down calmly. "Whose go is it anyway?" I asked, looking around our small circle of friends. Each of them looked absolutely hilarious, with their hair sticking out in awkward angles with feathers like a crown around their heads. I would have been laughing if I didn't know I probably looked worse. My curls were probably encrusted with the small feathers.

"Yours" Alice grinned evilly at me. I sighed.

"Fine then" I deliberated for a moment "Dare"

"Dare hmm?" Annabelle laughed "Fine, I dare you too" She looked around for a minute before deciding "Kiss Black". At those 2 words, all of my so called friends started grinning like Cheshire cats.

I hadn't made my hatred of Black a secret among them, and now I know what a mistake that was. I always thought Black was an immature womanizer who should be locked into Azkaban for breaking so many poor girls' hearts without care. But he seemed to like me. A lot more then he should. At first Black thought all my jabs at him were because I secretly liked him, showing how arrogant and self-centred he was. But then, after being the first girl in Hogwarts history to turn him down ever, Black became unbearable. He kept asking me out, making comments about me and scaring away any potential dates for me. I sighed.

"Really? What have I ever done to deserve that, rhetorical question Lil" I complained as I noticed Lily about to answer the question.

"It's that or the consequence" Emily mused, smiling sweetly at me. I growled unimpressively. The consequence was to skinny dip in the black lake. Personally, I'd take the skinny dipping, but I knew they'd choose to do it on the busiest day. I cursed my friends and went downstairs.

I could hear them following me, giggling as usual. Looking behind me, I saw everyone, apart from Lily; I suppose I felt a bit better about the situation. I knew Lily thought this was slightly unfair for me. Plus, she knew I'd do the same for her, if the situation was reversed. That's probably why I was closer to Lily then most, she knew everything about me likewise, I knew everything about her.

As I entered the common room, I suddenly wished I put on a jumper or something. I was wearing my shortest deep blue tank top and short PJ combination I owned, thinking it was only a girls night. Right. I'm an idiot. I looked around anyway, knowing the answer if I asked to go upstairs to put on a jumper. Of course, due to my sheer luck, all of the Marauders were there. Peter was staring at James and Sirius in awe, as I guessed they were showing off about something or other. Remus was reading, again, ignoring everything that happened around him. I sighed and walked over.

"See Prongs" yelled Black as he caught sight of me "Your little cousin can't keep away from me and my pure animal magnetism" James laughed. I noticed that Black didn't look at my face, he was staring at my legs…Great.

I pouted "I am only 3 days younger then James"

"Making you his little cousin" He finally looked up at me.

"By 3 days? How on earth is that fair?"

James raised his hands "To be fair, you were a week late"

I glared at him "You're meant to stick up for me and you were 3 weeks late"

"I do…normally. Does it really matter though?"

"Yes, as I'm close to a certain, umm, friend of yours" I smiled sweetly

"Fine" he sighed "I hate you sometimes"

"I love you to, dear cousin"

I exhaled. I'd almost forgotten what I was meant to do here…Until the giggling came ringing again.

Remus finally looked up from his book "You ok Rose?" he asked, with real concern. I suppose that what I love the most about Remus, when he asks you if you're ok he means it. He cares about everyone, even if you hate him. I smiled at him.

"Not really, I now hate my friends" I said, loud enough for them to hear. Again giggles. I decided to get new friends after this. Maybe Hufflepuffs…

"Whys that?" chipped in Peter, distracting me from my thoughts. That's all he ever did really. Chip in and distract important thoughts.

"Because they're making me do something I really don't want to do for truth or dare" If I had to do it, I thought to myself, at least make sure he knows I don't want to.

"And what's that Rosie?" asked Black. I grinded my teeth. After hearing my mother call me that on Platform 9 ¾ 2 years ago, he now assumed that he was allowed to call me that.

"Something awful, disgusting. Something I may never recover from" I looked down, allowing my light curls to cover most of my face, which was now a stupid shade of red. I could still hear them laughing.

Well…It's now or never I thought.

I bent down and kissed Black on the lips.
