Before I met Ellie and her band of Bandits I thought I didn't need anyone. I had a pack of kids I needed to lead and keep safe but I thought of myself as so independent that I didn't need anyone. I see things slightly different know.

Ok, so maybe I did need someone to go to if my nightmares got too gruesome to handle alone, or someone I could confine to. That person was my Mother, Sister and best friend rolled into one: Ellie.

I didn't like her too much at first; I didn't like any of the group at first. But I gradually warmed up to them. And since Ellie's mum and dad had died, she has become the biggest person in my life. And no matter what she says, I do not follow her around like a lost puppy.

One of the things I like best about Ellie is that she doesn't treat me like a child; she lets me in on missions and tells me things that others wouldn't. She doesn't know half the things I have gone through but that is all she needs to know. I'm not a child, not since the war started.

I had so many fond memories already with Ellie, like when we had made the castle out of hay or when Ellie fed the cow drugs so it would be able to get out of the bog. Now that is what I call funny.

I knew my old family had gone to a place I could never reach, I could feel it in my heart. I didn't know how I felt about my step-dad, he wasn't the best father figure one could have, at least I was fed. But he was nothing compared to Ellie though.

I guess that's why I cling so desperately to Ellie, she fills up the empty holes, she doesn't fit perfectly but somehow she does it. I just hope I can do something for her that could measure up with the enormity she has done for me.
