The Promises of an Exceptional Man
Chapter 1 - Introduction
After the pleasantly cooked dinner spent in the dining hall with the marvellous Kennedys and their wealthy friend Casper Landry that splendid September evening, Agnes had soon become utterly convinced after her talk with Casper, life and the customary business within 165 Eaton Place household was going to continue to flourish effortlessly. "Rose if she was here right now instead of recuperating, she would be thrilled for us, Hallam" The household hadn't exactly been the same without her, Agnes had always thought of her as being a dear friend, who she would find herself constantly confiding in.
"Are you still missing her, Agnes?" Hallam asked, placing his newsspaper down on the table, he could tell right away, Agnes must be considering going to visit her especially when she had some available time on her hands.
"Yes, she's worked fluently for the both of us and I can't help but wonder whether she might agree with Pritchard's accurate ways and means of running the kitchen quarters. In fact I would honestly say she might not, she'd be having some important words with him." Agnes smiled slightly, looking more thoughtful, tapping her fingertips across the polished and spotless tabletop. There was something she wanted to tell Hallam, her loneliness was troubling her endlessly everyday whenever her husband had agreed to working extra hours at the office under Chamberlain's order. Trying to tell him this felt frustratingly impossible, especially when after retiring to the bedroom for the night. Hallam would always be feeling sidetracked and exhausted, sometimes falling asleep as she chose the time to tell him. She worried for him, she was certainly thankful that she wasn't the only one who was worried about him. The Duke of Kent had shared his worries as well.
"Well I believe you should visit her tomorrow morning, I'm sure she will be happy to see you. You could tell her how well Beryl is getting along with the household staff" Hallam suggested, trying to persuade her.

Blanche seemed reasonably lost in thought when as she was making her way along the pavement of Eaton Place along with Mr Amanjit who was happily carrying a few books for her.
Wanting to get a thought off her formidable mind, she decided to ask him something. She expected he wouldn't really want to answer straight away. "Mr Amanjit have you ever purposefully fallen in love and not long after, been given a cruel ultimatum of having to put work before the promise of a true love?"
Mr Amanjit stopped and began to summon up a name he vaguely remembered, a young girl he'd known and had loved very much, while as a young strong-minded boy growing up on the streets of India. " Her name was Lohita, she always taught me the values of honesty and individual opinion. She moved away with her family when she was 12 years old, they moved to Sri Lanka. I never saw her again but I never stop hoping that one day our lives may cross once again."
Blanche was quite touched upon hearing his tender, gentle story, she wondered why he'd never told her sister when she first met him. Maybe he hadn't felt the need to or might have felt not confident enough to share some stories.
