Another Chance

Hi guys this is a story about what would have happened to Swiftpaw if the event with the dogs happened a bit…differently I hope you like it and please do not make a review about my punctuation my punctuation check is really weird and I know I am doing it wrong and I am doing all I can to fix it ,so enjoy.

Me and Brightheart exit the house through the dirt place Brightpaw keeps looking back towards the camp.

"Swiftpaw are you sure this is a good idea?" Brightpaw asked reluctantly

"Of course!" I meow back forcefully "how else do you think Bluestar will make us warriors?"

"Well, maybe if we train harder she will," Brightpaw started but I cut her off.

"No, that won't work for some reason we must prove ourselves she doesn't trust us ,we have to show her we are trustable!" I exclaim forcefully.

With one last reluctant look back she nodded and looked forward determined. The apprentice duo continued on at a quicker pace wanting to return to the hollow before they are missed. As they approach the snake rocks a sound makes them stop in their tracks…Tigerstar.

"Brightpaw!" I hissed at Brightpaw frozen in terror beside me "Brightpaw you have to go back to camp and get Fireheart," I meow the orders calmly even though my heart is racing so fast I feel as though my chest might explode.

"But, what about you?" She asked eyes filled with worry

I brush my cheek against hers "I have to stay here and do my best to figure out what Tigerstar is up to," I meow.

Terror fills her sapphire blue eyes "You can't stay here with that monster!" she exclaims horrified.

"There is no time to fight about it now you must hurry," I reply but a strange joy fills me at the fact that she is worried. Her eyes bore through me filled with fear for me but there is no time to talk "Brightpaw I promise you I will come back I will never leave you," I meow into her ear gently.

Her eyes soften and she asked "promise?"

"Promise," I meow firmly yet soft.

With my reassuring words Brightpaw pelts of back towards our camp as her ginger tail disappears through the trees I turn toward the sound of Tigerstar. I crouch behind a bush at the edge of the snakerocks. I watch as Tigerstar throws a large rabbit into the middle of the clearing from were he sits perched on a large rock.

What are you up to Tigerstar. right as the thought passes through my mind a pack of dogs seven strong burst out from a cave and began to rip the rabbit into pieces. Horror surged through me those are the biggest dogs I have ever seen! Every muscle told me to run but I had to know the purpose.

"Good," Tigerstar snarls down at the pack "with this I can rid the forest of that half-blood clan and that nuisance Bluestar with her little pet Fireheart,"

"No!" I whisper to myself and start to back away but as I do the wind changes carrying my scent strait toward Tigerstar and the pack of dogs.

Tigerstars ears perk as the scent reaches his nose his eyes narrow and he looks my direction ,but Tigerstar is not the only one that notices me the largest dog lifts his head from his kill and looks my way. I try to run but my own fear keeps me in my place.

In a voice so terrible it drives fear into your very soul the dog barks "Pack attack ,Pack kill!"

At that last word the pack lunged toward me as a whole I yowl in terror. I think about running but I know that it would be to late so I did the only thing I possibly could ,I fought. As the first dog broke through the tree line I pounced onto his great head and scratched as his eyes with all my might. The dog howls in pain as I blind him he jerks his head into the air and throws me off and runs back toward the clearing. I barely have time to regain my feet when two more dogs burst through. I jump onto ones back and the other snaps at me but the dog he is clawing into is writhing around to much that he cant get a hold ,but my glory doesn't last for as I am concentrating on the two dogs another comes up from behind. The large dog grabs hold of my back and rips me off ,he shakes me as though I was some sort of toy and as though he grew bored he threw me and I hit a tree a ways off with a thud. I look up and see the four dogs bearing down on me. Blood flowing down my face pain surging through me I know I can not run.

This is the end. All of the sudden I thought surges through me Brightpaw I promised her I would come back. A tear falls down my cheek "I am sorry Brightpaw I tried," I say toward the sky.

As the words leave my lips I see a flash of orange fly passed and all the dogs all turn into the direction of the cat of coarse I knew it was Fireheart. Brightpaw brought help! Three more cats fly pass but I am so tired I don't have time to identify them. Brightpaw runs over to me and I smile I know I will be ok.

"Swiftpaw, its ok now we're here its going to be ok!" Brightpaws worried meow comforts me. Smell my mentor Longtail behind me and they gently pick me up I groan a bit but it doesn't hurt to horribly. At the sweet smell of Brightpaw I drift into blackness.

As soon as all the voices faded and scents gone one voice rose up in the darkness and a gentle voice not more the a whisper meowed

As the blazing fire fades our last hope is the swift claw of a true leader. At this a drift off into a dreamless sleep.
