AN: I made a new friend on this site, RoseUnicorn (go read her stories, they are really good)! Hooray! *throws a party, because I have nothing better to do* Ugh, I'm such a loser. But, I that aside, I am updating! Hooray again!
Again: I am terribly sorry if it seems like I am promoting suicide and self-harm, but I really don't support that kind of thing. (Something we all need to remember: Suicide isn't an easy way out. You will just leave more pain in your wake and it is permanent. There is no going back.) Honestly. I just needed something dramatic. Please; none of you wonderful readers start doing that to yourselves!
To Lady Iris: I will answer your question, even though you are making me think you are planning to do this to yourself. Please don't! Let's just say this; his cuts are deep enough for a bandage.
And lastly: Thank you to all of my wonderful reviewers (commenters, as they're called now), readers and friends! You make my day brighter! :) I feel happy writing for you guys, because I know you like to read. Thanks again!
Wednesday, January 3
You'll never guess what happened today! When I woke up, Clive was laying in his bed, with Katia right next to him! I almost screamed, but then I noticed that I knew the two people.
"Clive!" I cried, throwing my arms around him and almost crying, totally happy! He yells out in surprise and puts me in a headlock. For once, I can pretend like everything is okay.
"Little Luke! How are you doing?" he asks, in a fake valley-girl accent. I snuggled into him and laid my head against his shoulder. Despite what I may say, I have become very attatched to Clive.
"Great! Well, great now that you're here!" I stop and pull my head up, staring at him closely. "Wait just a moment, what ARE you doing back here?" he smiled and face-palmed.
"Oh boy, I guess I forgot to tell my number one fan." I frowned, making him laugh. "Kidding, kidding. Well, the apartment building we were lodging in is currently being smashed to the ground." my jaw dropped.
"Wha-? You're kidding!" Clive shook his head and shushed me.
"Keep it down, my fiancé is trying to sleep here!" I quieted immediately, feeling bad. "Nope, they didn't even know we were in there. If we hadn't woken up when we did, we would both be dead. Just laying there in a pile of rubble." that came as some of a shock to me.
Life is very precious when you think about it. Some day, we will all go out, just like the flame of a candle. I could just slip and die while walking to school, or Flora could be shot. Clive could have a heart attack, Katia could get ill and die, Emmy could die in childbirth and the professor could die of a stroke or something. I dunno, I'm running out of ways to kill people.
"Don't you have any say in what happens to your building?" I asked incredulously. Clive shook his head again.
"Unfortunately we don't. Like I said, no one knew we were living up there." suddenly, he started to laugh. "You should have seen the looks on the worker's faces when we walked out of the building, Luke! Priceless!" I laughed along with him, though I didn't think it was very funny.
"Are you sure they weren't just staring at Katia in her negligee?" Clive blushed.
"I know I was." I groaned and walked downstairs, leaving before the conversation turned dirty.
The first thing I heard when I walk downstairs was crying. I poked my head into the living room, thinking Flora got a bad mark on her test or saw a dead bird or something. To my surprise, I saw Emmy sitting on the couch, clutching her little yellow hanky. "E-Emmy?" I asked, startled. She looked up and sniffled.
"Oh Luke." she patted the spot next to her. "Come and sit with me." I walked cautiously to the sofa and sat, waiting to hear what was wrong.
"Luke, I'm scared." she whispered. I was surprised by this.
"Scared?" she nodded and started to cry again. "Scared of what?"
"Of the baby!" I thought that sounded a little silly. "I'm afraid that I can't do this." she sobbed even harder and pulled me into a hug. I just sat there, frozen. Well, what was I supposed to do?
"What? You're afraid of this?" she nodded and pulled away, dabbing at her eyes again. "C'mon Emmy, if anyone could do this, it's you!" she gave me a watery smile and sniffed.
"You really think so?" I nodded, matter-o-factely.
"I know so! You're the toughest girl I know!" she hugged me again and sniffled.
"Thank you Luke." she whispered.
School was rather uneventful today, except for what happened at lunch.
I was sitting with Flora as usual, and we were having a pretty good time, until Bryce and his cronies walked over. "Hey Triton! Hey Layton!" Bryce smirked. I rolled my eyes.
"Hey Bryce," I say, sounding totally uninterested. Bryce flashes a toothy grin and throws something at Flora.
"Here little slut, you'll be needing this!" he guffawed and his friends do too.
Flora picked up the box and her mouth fell open.
"What is this?" she asks, outraged. It's a home pregnancy test. "You think I'm pregnant? This isn't funny!" Bryce laughs even harder. Flora's eyes welled with tears and she covered her face as everyone in the cafeteria stared and some laughed. I stared at Bryce, getting angrier with each laugh. And then, I snapped.
"Shut up!" I yelled, and punched him square in the face. Bryce fell to the ground and grabbed his nose, looking utterly surprised. I raced to Flora's side and grabbed her by the shoulders.
"Are you okay?" I ask. She nodded and sniffled. Bryce was still on the ground, speechless. "Anyone else want to make fun of Flora? Because she's NOT pregnant! And there's plenty more where that," I pointed to Bryce, "came from!" everyone is speechless like Bryce, so I took Flora's hand and pulled her up, leading her from the cafeteria.
And that was probably the highlight of my day. No one at school is saying that Flora is pregnant anymore and Bryce or Amelia hasn't bothered me since I punched Bryce.
Still, I felt bad about what I did and so I decided to have a heart-to-heart with the professor.
"What's eating you Luke?" he asked, concerned. I sighed and decided to start at the library yesterday.
"Well, yesterday in the library, I overheard some girls say that Flora was pregnant." the professor dropped his teacup in surprise.
"What?" he spluttered. I panicked.
"No no no! She isn't really pregnant, it's just some stupid rumor!" he calmed down after hearing that, but he still kept a close eye on me. I sighed. This talk was not going the way I planned.
"That aside, today a couple boys started picking on her about the rumor, so I..." I froze.
"Yes?" the professor pressed.
"I-I punched the ring leader in the face." I said, feeling ashamed as soon as I had. The professor smiled at me gently.
"Luke, you did what you had to. And I'm sure Flora is very proud and impressed by you." I smiled and hugged him.
"Aw, thanks professor." it's nice to have someone on your side.
I stood up and started to walk from the room, and then paused, remembering what Emmy had said earlier. "Oh, and one more thing." he smiled.
"Yes Luke?" I leaned against the door frame.
"You might want to take Emmy out on a date or something. She needs it."
AN: Here's a fluffier chapter. Sorry that this wasn't updated sooner. I will try hard, but my WHOLE family is coming up for fourth of July, so I don't know if I'll get any writing time in. Probably not. (Also sorry if the English readers don't know what holiday I'm talking about.)
Please comment below and tell me what you think! Also, I can take some requests, if you have any.
Signing off,
MikuLover~
