The Aliens Romance
Thel shut the door to Lana's room, and walked over to where the guards were. On his arrival, they all immediately put their hands to their hearts, saluting. "Arbiter," Thel nodded respectively in response before continuing.
" Comrades, has a fellow Sangheili come by hear recently? He has many bruises, and he has had a lot of trouble surrounding him recently. I expect you know of what I mean."
" Yes, I know of whom you speak. I recall his name as Zhad 'mortuma. He came by here not to long ago, hoping to retire for the night." Said one of the guards politely.
"Ah, good. Please would you summon him?"
"It would be my pleasure, Arbiter sir," Replied the same guard. He strode away in the direction of the control romm, and after a short wait, the guard came back. "He shall be here very shortly Arbiter sir."
"My thanks, comrade." Thel answered. He quitely walked away for the nearest seat, before finding one and sitting down. Thel spent the next ten minutes listening intently to the guards conversation. They were discussing about the events that occurred in the Breifing room, two of them wishing that they had been aloud to shoot at the humans, and the other two saying how they missed the battle.
It was ten minutes before Zhad 'mortuma showed up. He looked like he had run all the way here, and Thel took into account how painful that must have been what with his injuries. As Thel stood up, he said "You must be Zhad 'mortuma I take it?,"
"Yes Arbiter sir," He was dressed in dark blue robes, and his voice was dark, yet cautious.
"I need you to answer some questions for a friend about what happened the other night,"
"Oh yes," Zhad said darkly. Thel also made a note of this, before continuing,
"Please, follow me," Thel asked, gesturing for Zhad to follow.
"Yes Arbiter sir." Thel began to walk for Lana's room, with Zhad following closely.
Thel knocked on Lana's however, there came no answer. He called, and still all remained at peace. "Lana? Lana, I'm coming in all right?" Thel motioned for Zhad to remain behind the door, as he began to glide his fingers over the door pad. At first, Thel couldn't see anyone, until he looked at the bed, and sprawel out on the bed, was a sleeping Lana. She had flopped out on the bed, with heer arms above her head, yet her legs remained over the side of the bed. The Arbiter could see the gently rise and fall of her chest, and for a moment Thel began to see her face properly relaxed for the first time. She is so peaceful when she sleeps. I see a face I never get to see. But Thel quickly snapped out of his thoughts. He had to wake her up soon, but he had no idea of how to do this without alarming her, so Thel quitely walked over to her, and bent over her, his eyes fixated on her, as his face began to loom over her. "Lana? Lana, you need to wake up," Thel said gently, "Lana, come on," said Thel as he pressed on. Lana began to stir, groaning slightly, "Lana, wake up now," Lana's eyelids began to flicker, before they fully opened.
"W-what?" Muttered Lana.
"Lana, it's time to wake up," Lana began to get re-aquainted to the world, and not seconds later, her eyes had adjusted to see the kind and gentle face of the Arbiter staring down at her. She merely stared at him, taking in his features. He had a face with numerous scars, his eyes glistened and Lana once again began losing herself in his golden eyes. They were so welcoming, and though she could not tell, held great affection for Lana. " Lana?"
"Mmm?" Lana replied, with an airy, far away tone to it.
"Lana, Zhad 'mortuma is waiting outside." Lana immediately snapped back to reality, before asking,
"He is the one you need to need to talk to," Said Thel.
"Oh, right. I'll just er, you know..." Lana trailed of as she finally noticed that the Arbiter was looming over her in a rather close fashion. A look of realisation took over Thel, and he began to quickly standing back to normal once more.
"Sorry, I didn't mean to... you know..." Thel muttered, quickly taking that that wasn't the most efficient ways of getting someone to wake up. Lana sat back up straight, and flashed him a smile. A meek smile formed on Thels mandibles. "Are you sure you don't want me to ask him the questions?"
"No, it's quite alright. Cheers though. So where is he?" Lana smiled
"He's waiting just outside, I'll go bring him in." Thel strode over to the door, and opened it. Zhad was waiting outside with an impatient look that quickly vanished as the door slid open, with Thel on the other side. Thel motioned for Zhad to come in, and he hurriedly walked into the room. His stride immediately stopped as he saw Lana sitting on the bed. Zhad looked on in shock with his eyes wide open.
"It's alright comrade." Said Thel, as he closed the door.
"You can sit down you know," Lana said, gesturing to a chair opposite. Zhad looked over at Thel, who glanced at the chair. Reluctantly, Zhad sat down. "Hopefully you're aware as to why I'm here?" Zhad remained still, taking the human in front of him in. "Ok, well I'm here because I've come to ask you about the other night."
"Yes, I was aware someone was coming to talk to me, but I wasn't expecting a human breeder," Lana could clearly hear the sound of distaste dripping of his words. Inside, a mix of raw rage began to burn her, yet the calm look on her face was almost intact, maybe the odd twitch of the eye here and there. Thel meanwhile was watching from his stand against the wall, wondering how many words Zhad would have to throw at her until she popped. He reasoned a lot.
"Listen, I don't want to have a verbal debate with you, so let's just get this over with shall we?" Lana said, sickeningly polite. Lana took Zhad's silence as a yes. "Right, I want to know if you have had any connection with those men in the past?" Lana's response was a slow shake of the head. Lana let out a sigh before continuing. "Perhaps you said something to affend them?"
"Have you ever had a history with any of them?"
"I do not understand," At this, Thel spoke up, steering Lana from any more uncomfortableness,
"She means, have you ever had a bad history before, like did any of you ever hurt each other?" Thel enquired.
"I have no recollection of ever meeting them before," Said Zhad, his voice becoming less
distasteful when he spoke to Thel.
"Hmm. Ok, does the name ' Rodrigo doyle' ring any bells?" Lana pressed on. At this Zhad began to look thoughtful. After a twenty second silence his final answer was,
"No," Lana let out a long sigh,
"This is getting us nowhere Thel." Zhad looked slightly surprised when Lana said Thel's actual name, to which Thel remained like he hadn't heard it. Lana stood up from the bed and walked over to the door.
"But Ollie taylor does." Zhad announced still looking at where Lana had sat. Lana stopped mid-step, her eyes as if they had frozen. Finally she cleared her throat before saying,
"Um, thanks. You can leave now." Lana said quitely. Zhad stood up like he hadn't said anything, and walked out of the door as Thel opened it for him. Zhad saluted one more time, before setting of for his dormitorie once again. Silence filled the room for at least another ten seconds before Lana closed her eyes, took a deep breath, and said, "I think I should leave now."
"I will take you back then." Thel had sensed immediately that something was up with Lana, but it clearly disturbed her, so he left it. The two walked out of the room and made their way towards the Boarding bay.
Thel and Lana stood still, standing in front of the two doors. It had a sign on it written in the Sangheili language.
"What does it say?" Asked Lana, already sensing what the answer was going to be.
"Boarding bay closed" Read Thel.
"Oh great. What time is it?" Lana asked Thel. He glanced down at his Sangheili watch.
"Shit, where am I gonna stay?" Shrieked Lana.
"You may stay in you're previous room, if you wish." Thel suggested.
"But what about the others? They won't let a human stay here!"
"Well, this ship does belong to me. I can have anyone stay here if I so wish. Besides, I see no other option," Lana looked at Thel, before continuing,
"And what about the morning?"
"What about it?"
"What will the others say?"
"As long as they know you're with me, they won't say anything."
"Okay then." Lana said after another mental debate.
"This is me then, I guess," Said Lana.
"I shall see you in the morning then?" Thel smiled gently.
"Yeah, that sounds good," Lana looked down at her feet, her cheeks blushing. Why are you blushing idiot?
"Goodnight, Lana," Lana looked up into Thel's deep, golden eyes, staring again.
"Goodnight, Thel," The two races shared smiles, before Thel turned round and walked away. Lana sighed contently. When did he get so gentle? Lana faced the doors pad, her fingers gliding over the screen, before she began frowning. She began to press the screen again, her brow furrowing even deeper.
"Oh crap, how do I do this? Come on, not now! Grr!" Suddenly an idea came to her. "Thel!" Lana started into a sprint, frantically searching for Thel. Then, as she came skidding to a halt round a corner, she saw his form slinking away into the shadows. "Thel!" Lana began jogging forward again. "Thel" This time he turned around. A smile began to spread across his mandibles as Lana came jogging up to him.
"What is it Lana?" Lana looked up from catching her breath slightly.
"Um, I kinda forgot the, er, locking thing for the door." Lana answered sheepishly. Then, to the surpise of Lana, Thel let out a laugh. A kind, gentle laugh that matched his face.
"It is quite alright. Come, let me show you."
"Umm, okay then." Lana said, a smile slowly kreeping on her face.
"Okay so I just press the ziggy-zaggy thing with that curvy thing by the side?" Thel let out a chuckle,
"Yes, I suppose so,"
"Oh great! Thank you," Lana beamed. She let out a sigh, before looking back up to Thel, and a smile began to creep it's way onto each of their faces. As each other began to lose themselves in the others eyes, they began to edge closer together, getting closer and closer, until Thel could hear Lana's heartbeat. What are you doing? What are you doing? Don't do it! No, do it! No, wait, don't do it! Agh, do it! Which was roughly what Thel and Lana were both thinking. Then, Thel outstretched his hand, and Lana took it. It felt so smooth to hold in Lana's hand, and so warm. Thel began to bend his neck down closer to Lana, as she stood on her tip-toes to reach him. Oh for the love of god just do it! Thel swiftly crooked his head to the side as he went to finally kiss her neck. Lana stood on her very tips, and then there was silence as a quiet gasp escaped from Lana as his mandibles connected with her skin. Oh finally! Lana began to kiss a bit of his exposed neck. Lost in the moment, the two began to cherish this moment, but quickly stopped when they both came back. The two quickly withdrew from one another. Thel averted his gaze to the ceiling, Lana to the floor. She coughed slightly, before starting,
"Um, I think it's time I went to bed now. I'll see you in the morning."
"Erm, y-yes, goodnight." Lana and Thel hurriedly began for their rooms, both longing to finally be alone with their thoughts.
Hmm. Maybe that wasn't the best choice you've made in you're life. I'm gonna have the time of my life listening to you're conversation tomorrow morning.
