When Adam Jensen returned to his apartment that night, he found a sticky note on the door. It read:

Jensen,

I think I can help you in your search for your friend. I have information that may be relevant to you. Come to Picus Studios. I'll be in my office waiting for you. Please be here as soon as possible.

Sincerely,

Eliza Cassan

The green-eyed man sighed deeply, yanked the note off his door and entered his apartment. Once the door slid shut, Adam strode over to a keypad situated on the wall next to the kitchen and typed his code in to unlock the secret stash of weapons that he had hidden behind his plasma screen TV.

"Faridah Malik...This is Adam Jensen, over," he spoke quietly into the Info-Link as he snatched up his modified FR-27 Sanction Flechette Rifle and slung it across his broad shoulders.

"I copy," the pilot of the VTOL replied swiftly, "What do you need, Jensen?"

"Come meet me on the top of my apartment building," he answered curtly, "I need a ride to Montreal. Eliza says she's got information in regard to a recent...acquaintance I met three days ago."

"Alright, I'm on my way..."

It took only a few minutes for Faridah to reach the apartment building. Adam was already waiting for her on the rooftop.

"Alright Jensen...Hop in," said Faridah, having to raise her voice a little on the intercom, "You can tell me the details as we go."

Sarah gazed in awe that great dining hall that her host brought her to. Tall arched windows allowed the light of the sun to stream into the room, while ornate white curtains lent a cheery air to the room.

"Wow...This is amazing!" the young woman exclaimed, turning to her companion, "You must have one heck of a job to afford all this. Um...What do you do?"

"You don't need to know just yet," said Mao Chung smoothly, brushing her question off with ease, "But you will know all in good time."

As she allowed him to lead her to one of the seats at the oaken dining table, Sarah suddenly saw a brief image of a tall handsome man standing before her and speaking to her, but she could hear any of what he was saying. Mao noticed the vacant look on the young woman's face and reached over to tap her lightly on the shoulder.

"Sarah-san...Are you alright? The server is waiting for your order. Or shall I order for you?" the Chinese inquired with apparent concern.

"Oh...Oh no, it's fine," she said quickly, "I was...I was just thinking, that's all. Um, I'll have the Sweet-and-Sour pork."

Mao's eyes narrowed as he watched the music teacher with keen eyes; every little movement that she made indicated that something was up.

"So let me get this straight..." said Malik slowly, "You meet this likeable girl at a dance party, then three days later...the two of you decide to go out on a dinner date."

The augmented security guard leaned forward in his seat as he gingerly massaged his temples, listening idly to his friend's summary of the recent events.

"Then while she was waiting for you outside the deli...a couple of thugs come up and drag her away to their getaway car," the pilot finished, "Am I missing anything?"

"No, I think that you've got all the details straight," Adam sighed deeply, closing his eyes, "Oh yeah, before I forget...Set me down on the roof. I'm sure that she knows we're here."

The VTOL set down on the landing pad with a soft thump, jostling the occupants of the vehicle a little. Once the VTOL came to a complete stop, Adam stepped out of the cabin and strode to the door that would give him access to the set of top floor offices. He continued on, keeping a low profile for there were people bustling through the halls. Once he got to the office, Adam knocked three times until he heard a soft "Please come in", then stepped into the dimly lit room.

"Nice to see you again, Ms. Cassan," the green-eyed man quietly greeted the news anchorwoman, "So, what information have you got for me?"

"It's nice to see you again, Adam, and haven't I told you to call me Eliza?" Eliza said softly, "So, just two hours before I called you...I interviewed the new CEO of Tai Yong Medical. He was demonstrating one of his most recent projects."

"He didn't do it...Did he?" Adam hissed sharply, "Tell me Eliza!"

"I'm afraid he did," the pretty news reporter sighed, her expression sad, "It seems that Mao Chung has augmented your friend so that she responds only to him. Also, when I performed several discreet scans on the 'subject'...It seems that she's been outfitted with a special type of augmentation that causes her to have amnesia, as well as increased reflexes."

The augmented security guard cursed darkly under his breath as his augmented hand clenched into fists. Never before had he felt this strongly towards anyone, and it was starting to scare him a little.

Eliza gave Adam a sympathetic smile and rose to her feet saying, "That's all the information I have on your friend. Is there anything else that you wish to know?"

"No," he managed to say, "That's all I need for now. Thank you for your time."

The news reporter watched silently as Adam rose from his chair and stalked out of the office. Mao Chung was in some serious trouble...
