Summery: Some time has passed since the death of Rosario Córdoba's husband Paulino. And an un-expected vistor come to check is she doing all right.

It was already mid-morning, as the sun shown though the windows. Rosario Córdoba had already woken up and did the same routine she had done every day since her husband Paulino had passed away.

She got out of bed, took a shower and was about ready to put on a black dress. She hesitated for a moment, perhaps it was time to move on. She moved that thought to the back of head and got out the black dress and put it on. She then walked in front of her dresser like she did every morning and picked up the picture of her late husband.

She was still mourning the death of her husband, she had a lot of regret surrounding the last time they had been together.

She had told him to leave, that she didn't want to see him again. Everyday she regretted that those were her last words to him. To the man she loved, despite her attitudes towards him sometimes.

A knock in the door, broke her train of thought. Assuming it was Delfina she said "Come in." But it wasn't her.

"What exactly are you doing here, Rodolfo? And who let you into my house?" She asked with her usual tone that demand answers.

"Delfina let me in; she says you haven't come out of your room much ... well since Paulino passed away. So I decide to see how you are doing."

"How do you think I'm doing?" she said as her voice got loader "and do you thing I want you here? You better leave." She said as she waved her hand towards the door.

"Rosario," he took a few steps closer "Paulino was one of my best friends as I was growing up, and even though we weren't in good standing at the time of his death. I think I owe it to him to make sure you're alright."

This made Rosario mad, she didn't need help especially not from the father of the man who she blamed for the death of her son.

She walked straight to Rodolfo, got close to him and picked up her finger to his face. "I don't need your help, and I certainly don't want it" She yelled.

He grabbed the hand that was in his face gently. "I never said I was going to help you, I only wanted to check up on you, that's all. But it's obvious that you don't want me here so I'll leave.

He let go of her hand and started to walk out of the room, and he stoped to look at one of the pictures on the wall. It was a picture from the day Paulino and Rosario had gotten married.

He pointed to the picture "I remember that day." He said. "That day I thought Paulino was a fool for choosing to marry you and not Justina. I thought I was the lucky man who was going to have Justina all for myself. I guess I was wrong.

If I recall correctly you never cheated on Paulino. You were faithful to him, unlike him and my wife, well my ex-wife, Justina. I guess I was the real fool that day. For thinking that Justina would drop her old ways and be faithful."

Rosario just looked at Rodolfo dumbfounded by what she had just heard. She wasn't use to people confiding in her. She was use to being unapproachable. She had planed not to respond, and just let him leave, but curiosity got the better of her.

"You really think, I would have been a better choice than Justina?' She asked.

"Well, when it comes to faithfulness, yes. I would have to get to know you better to determine the rest though." He said this as he walked closer to her.

He grabbed both her hands in his and looked her straight in the eyes. "That day Paulino made the right choice and I made the wrong one."

Rosario didn't know why this statement was affecting her emotionally so much. Was it the fact that despite her attitude and rough exterior. That people, that Rodolfo could tell that deep down inside she was a good person.

Her thoughts where interrupted through, by Rodolfo again. But this time he wasn't speaking his lips were pressed against her.

At first she was shocked, then angry, but most of all she was confused.

Why was he kissing her and why was she kissing him back?

They separated and Rodolfo opened his mouth to speak.

Suddenly the door opened and Lucrecia walked in. "Mama, I need to talk to you, oh sorry I didn't know you had company." Lucrecia said as she looked at Rodolfo.

"Don't worry about it Lucrecia, I was about to leave." Rodolfo said.

He smiled at Rosario and turned around leave.

"Rodolfo" Rosario said, making him stop in his tracks to turn and look at her again.

"Never again, do you understand." She said firmly.

Rodolfo looked down disappointed, but he nodded. "I understand." He said.

Rosario spoke again "Until I'm ready, I would hate for you to make another bad choice." She spoke, smiling at Rodolfo.

He looked up in shock "Are you serious?" He asked.

This time she was the one to nod "But for now I need to talk to my daughter."

He wanted to run up to her and hug her and kiss her again, but he knew if he did such a thing in front of Lucrecia, it would ruin any chance he had. So instead he smiled and said "I'll be on my way, it was a pleasure to talk to you today, now if you excuse me." And he walked out the door and closed it.

"What were you two talking about?" Lucrecia asked.

Rosario turned her back towards Lucrecia, so she wouldn't she the huge smile forming on her face. "Nothing, so what is it that you wanted?"

Rodolfo walked towards his car knowing exactly what he had to do when he got home. He was going to tell his current girlfriend, that it was time to move on. He wasn't going to make a bad choice again. He was going to make the right choice.
