Annicka set off to go see if she could find something interesting to do. Strangely, interesting did not appear to be on the menu for today. She sat down on the floor in a corner and sighed. Figures. The one day I want an adventure, one refuses to present itself.

"Hi!" said a familiar voice.

Annicka stood up. "Hi… Shelby." She said. "What are you doing here?"

Next to Shelby was a boy with auburn hair and blue eyes. He looked confused, and was wearing pajamas and slippers.

"Is he a new kid? Strange time to get one. And he's old enough to be a graduate. What's going on?"

"Ask Nero." Shelby sighed, and ran a hand through her newly short blond hair.

"Oh, is he awake now?" Annicka said with interest.

"Was he asleep?" Shelby asked.

"Yep." Annicka bounded over to them. "I can come too, if you want!"

Shelby sighed.

"Why not?" she said.

On the way to the hospital wing, Annicka learned the boy was twenty years old, he had never been to H.I.V.E. before, was named Timothy and had an older sister named Shrader. He agreed that the air-conditioning was turned up way to high again.

Nero was awake. He was reading what looked like a report so fast his eyes looked blurred.

"Hi!" Annicka yelled.

Nero jumped. A snowstorm of paper erupted as the report went flying.

"Oh." He said. "It's you."

"Wow." Annicka blew her bangs from her face. "I feel soooo appreciated. "

"Miss Trinity, is this the boy I asked you to bring?" Nero asked.

"It's not Mrs. Fanchu yet?" Annicka asked with sudden interest.

"Not yet." Shelby told her.

Annicka giggled.

"Will someone please explain to me what's going on?" Timothy asked.

Annicka summarized as best she could.

"Right." Timothy said. "Can we go back over the parts that made no sense?"

"Which was?" Annicka asked.

"All of it."

Annicka sighed.
