- Just a small conversation. You can fit it in anywhere…. This is my third little story, and I'm told I need a beta - I think so too. I'm from Holland, English is not my native language, and I could do with some help. I've got some more stories in stock, please help me out?
For now - thanks for R&R! -
While Della walked the two detectives out of his office, Perry did not look up from his papers.
" Oh, Miss Street, I have one more question for you….."
" Just a minute, please, Mr. Mason, I'll be right back. "
She took her time to see the two gentlemen out properly, and got back into his office.
" Yes, Perry? You had one more question? "
" What is underneath your clothes? "
" I'm sorry? "
He sat back in his chair and watched her.
" I'll refrase the question. What would I be seeing if I took off your clothes now? "
" I'm not going to tell you…. it's none of your business, counselor. And you won't be taking my clothes off now that we're on a case…so, you won't see it today anyway. "
" I know. That's why I'm asking you to tell me. "
" To know what you're missing, uh? "
" Exactly, to know what I'm missing…."
" Well, I'm not going to tell you."
" And why the hell not? "
" Because if I tell you, you will be going all the way to see it today anyway…"
" Mmmm. Is it that nice? "
" Well, nice is not the right word. It would make you go out of your mind, counselor. "
" Mmmm. Thank you, Miss Street. "
" For what? "
" For giving me all these clues. Now I do know what's underneath your clothes….. young lady. "
" Oh, you are so bad, you know that. "
" No, I'm not bad actually. I am the best detective in the world. "
Della walked out on him, before he could get up and grab her, while she shook her head in disbelief. She turned to him at the door of his office.
" You know, Perry Mason, if you were the best detective in the world, you'd know the colour too. "
His mind went through her bedroom closet, and he decided to have a lucky guess.
" Handsome purple. "
She blushed and closed her eyes, while she shook her head again.
" Okay, okay. So you are the best detective in the world. "
" I told you so. "
" I'd better get going. "
" Yes, you better go now. "
" Goodnight, Perry. Sherlock. "
" Goodnight, Della. "
