(This idea came to me a long time ago, when Lloyd and Erica both mentioned that they had daughters. I think this is the first Breakout Kings baby fanfic...hope you enjoy it! Set after "An Unjust Death)
The Breakout Kings had encountered strange cases before, but not one like this. To start, a con by the name of Jesse Tilman had broken out of a prison to go after a guard who used to work there. Tilman had killed the guard and kidnapped his very pregnant wife, Natalie. Tilman took Natalie to a warehouse and left her there.
Soon after that, he was caught. The marshals tried to make a deal with him, a lesser sentence in exchange for Natalie's location. He didn't budge. Tilman was sent back to prison, sentence doubled.
After the interrogation, Ray came out with an annoyed look on his face. Everyone could tell that something was wrong. Llyod spoke first, he said
"I take it that didn't go well."
Ray replied,
"No, it didn't. He didn't give us any clues on where Natalie is. With her being so high risk, we need to find her fast.
Llyod asked,
"What do you mean high risk?"
"She's 39 weeks pregnant, smart one. For all we know, she could be lying in some building somewhere having a baby."
"Oh."
Just then, the phone rang. Julianne answered it. Two minutes later she said,
"Ray, that was forensics. They found the car Tilman used in the kidnapping. Bad news is, they found traces of amniotic fluid on the seat. They said the fluid was about 4 hours old."
A wave of worry went through everyone. Ray looked at Erica and said,
"Erica, your a mom, what does that mean?"
"In english, it means her water broke. She's in labor. She could be either having the baby now, or be in the first phase of labor. I don't know, with first pregnancies it's usually hard to tell."
"How long was yours?"
"I was lucky, I had a quick labor, only 11 hours. However I've heard, it can go as far as 72 hours."
Ray said,
"Whatever the case may be, we now have to lives at stake here. Let's get to work."
The team went to work, hoping to be able to save a woman and her baby.
