I fell in love with this song and I really wanted to write a story based on it, this is just a quick oneshot and pretty straight forward. The song is called The Fourth Drink Instinct and is by Cute Is What We Aim For.
Kagura knew she didn't belong there, much less alone. She should have brought Rin with her, but for the moment she didn't want any company. Besides she only got in because she had her fake ID, she had felt a bit of a thrill breaking the rules like that.
She sat at the bar drinking some fruity drink, to help look older she had left her kitty bag at home and had borrowed some of Rin's clothes. She didn't like all the black, or the low cut of the top, but it had helped her look the twenty one her ID claimed she was.
She felt the pain of losing Kyo fading with each drink. She'd never had alcohol before, and she felt her senses begin to get fuzzy half way through the first drink.
There was a boy beside her, older obviously, but only a few years. He was really nice too, offered to pay for her drink. She smiled and let him, flirting a bit. The boy, she didn't remember his name, /Tomeo maybe?/ stood and went to talk with his friends.
"You'll come back, right?" she asked.
"Of course." She smiled and looked back at her glass only to see that it was empty, she waved the bartender down.
"I think you're done girlie," he told her sliding the glass away.
"No, no," she slurred, pulling the glass back. "Jus' one more." Someone put money on the bar and she realized Tomeo had come back.
She hummed to herself, sliding her empty glass around, a small tower of three other empty glasses in front of her. She forgot who she had come to forget about, she smiled at the boy next to her. He had been nice, bought her more to drink and was telling her she was pretty.
"You shou' c'me t'my hoouse," she told him with a giggle. "'m by mahself. No one home, bu' me."
"A one night stand?" he asked. She giggled, wondering why he wanted to know how many nightstands she had.
"Yup, jus' one." He was such a gentlemen, he took her hand to help keep her steady as she explained where he house was.
Kagura woke up the next morning, alone. Her head was pounding and she felt sick, when she tried to sit up the world spun around her and she had to lay back down.
Her eyes stung with tears as she listened to the noises her empty home made.
What had been going through her mind? He found her bed so easily in the dark, of course he'd be able to find the door in the morning.
Now she knew what the alcohol wouldn't let her understand the night before.
"He said it was a one night stand," she whispered, hugging her knees to her chest. "A one night stand."
