I look in the mirror, and I see a monster. A monster with red eyes and fangs- a vampire, an incubus, something not quite human. Something shameful, something vile.

I'm surrounded by people- I don't belong here. I belong in the shadows, in the choking dark I hate and love so much.

Where do I belong? Among humans? The Shinigami? Or am I so disgusting that I really don't belong anywhere?

Where can I go? Where is there for a creature like me to seek solace in this empty world? Is there anything but death? I thought there was L, but he doesn't want me. I thought there was L, but he doesn't care.

Nobody cares.

I am alone.

This world has no room for people like me- people who aren't even really human.

There's nothing left but death.
