Jessie/Zack fanfic one shot. Don't like? Don't read.
Note: I also ship Jessie/Slater, but this was inspired. Friendship more than romance.
PS: Putting off on both Harry Potter fan fictions for a while. If you care, I mean.

"Jessie! Oh, Jessie, please let me in!"
"I'll find a way in!"
"No, you won't."
All the sudden, Jessie heard the creaking of branches outside. It took her a couple of minutes, but as soon as he appeared it was too obvious. "I'm going to try anyway," he replied, perched on the top tree branch. "Can you please open the window?"
Jessie sighed. They had been friends for too long to know he wouldn't. She opened the window so she could put her head out. Her huge, poufy hair blew in the wind. She waited, but he just stared at her, blinking in complete peace. "You want in or what?" He held out his hand so she could help him in, and she did. He hopped through the window and jumped up. Then he flopped down onto her bed.
"Hey, that's new," he commented. "I'll have to use that more often."
"You know, you should have let me fight for myself today, Zack," she said, crossing her arms.
He snorted. "Please. Those guys were a bunch of thugs. More trouble than they're worth just to prove yourself."
"Thanks, but I'll decide when that's true and when it's not."
"You're insane, you know that?"
She crossed over to her bed and sat down with him. "Zack, why wouldn't any of the guys play house with me anyway?"
He laughed. "Because you were demanding they wear the apron."
"So what? A man can work in the kitchen as well as any woman can."
He sat up and looked at her as she looked at the floor. "Yeah, Jessie, I know. But this is the 1980's—not the 1950's. You don't need to work to be heard." He laughed again. "Plus, we're nine-years-old. Why can't it wait until we're older?"
"That's not what concerns me, though, Zack. What if… when we're older, I mean… what if no one likes me because I'm a feminist? I'm not going to give that up."
He blinked. "Hey, I like you and you've always been a feminist."
"I don't mean like a friend."
He was short of words, for the first time in his life. He took her by the hand and smiled at her. She looked up and he said, "Okay. By the time we're out of high school, if you're not dating anyone, call me up, okay? I'll marry you."
She laughed. "Okay, Zack." She was quiet before she said, "Promise?"
He stuck out his pinky. "Swear," he said matter-of-factly. She locked pinkies with him. "There. Now, I've got to get home. But leave your window open more often—I'll be using this way a lot."
Jessie smiled as he climbed out the window and down the tree. Honestly, although she'd never tell Zack, now she hoped she'd never date anyone.
Note: Hey y'all! This is just to let you know I'm alive. I WILL be continuing both Harry Potter fanfictions, but I have some Doctor Who, Supernatural, and Saved by the Bell fanfictions in mind first. Zack/Jessie romance and Jessie/Slater romance, Dean and Sam friendship, and Doctor Who (11 and 10, but mostly 11) and OC adventure. Okay, well, see you around.
