Chapter One/Prologue; Dear Reader,

You don't necessarily have to read them, but it might fill you in on some things! Also, not every chapter will have an author's note, but please read them if there is! Enjoy!

Quite a few years have passed since the adventures of the first generation of bird kids. They've all grown up, gotten married and had a few hatchlings (but we were actually born like humans). This is the story of the second generation of bird kids, and how we finished what our parents started; that is, how we saved the world.

I say "we," and that's because even though this was supposed to be my task, I could not have done it without some very important people who were the supporting wind beneath my wings. The first is my brother Jake, who I share literally every thought with. After him, I can't say that anyone helped me anymore than another, so here they are in no specific order: Aristotle and Maximillion, who I grudgingly admit are technically my uncles (I promised Max I would say that if I ever wrote a book); Denver, Micha and Nudge's firstborn, who showed confidence in me at a time when I didn't have any, when I thought he didn't, and when I needed someone to believe in me the most; Sasha, Denver's little sister, who stuck with me through everything and was always equipped with a smile; Aaron, Gazzy and Jasmine's oldest son, whose hard work and dedication are often underrated; Skye, Jonah, Jeb and Jenni, for without their planning, foresight, attention to detail and other forms of thoughtfulness our world would be very, very different.

I also want to clarify that I'm not writing this for glory and/or fame, but because I want to put the true chain of events out there, not just whatever the media puts together. But also because the true chain of events needs to be read, remembered and taught to everyone everywhere. Just like students have to learn about the Holocaust so that nothing like that ever happens again, we need to learn about this for the purpose of prevention.
