Disclaimer: I don't own anything but the plot. WWE owns the WWE, Mike owns himself, and Maryse owns herself.
As she stood in front of the full length mirror in her hotel room, Maryse was a nervous wreck which was highly unusual for the blonde. She was always confident, fearless even. She even had a hard time figuring out an outfit and that was surprising since she's always so fashionable.
As she looked herself over in the mirror she took deep breathes and told herself to calm down in her native tongue, and that it was only a date. Suddenly the overwhelming fear that she might have forgotten how to speak English over took her. Then she decided that would be ridiculous.
She was just about to put on a different pair of heels - for the third or fourth time that night - when there was a knock at the door. She took a deep breath and started for the door. She opened the door and there was Mike, with a single red rose in his hand. She smiled at him.
"You look..." It took him a while to find the right word, "Stunning."
Maryse blushed lightly. She thought she's heard it all before from guys, but they just wanted to get into her pants. Mike, however, was being completely honest. He thought she looked gorgeous. "You look quite handsome yourself." Maryse returned the compliment and Mike gave her a cocky smirk.
"I do what I can." He said simply and Maryse rolled her eyes playfully. "This is for you, by the way." He extended the rose towards her, almost forgetting it was even in his hand.
"Thank you," She brought the flower to her nose and inhaled, "It's beautiful."
Mike grinned widely, "Not nearly as beautiful as you." Maryse blushed again. She turned around and put the rose on the entry way table. She turned back around and Mike hooked his arm around her's, "We should probably get going, don't want to be late."
They began walking down the hallway and Maryse tried not to focus on all the butterflies in her stomach. "Where are we going?" She asked as they stepped into the elevator.
"You'll see," Mike gave her a smile, "You'll see."
. . .
The drive to where ever they were going was nice and Mike was being a perfect gentleman. The car finally came to a stop and Mike opened the door for Maryse. She nearly gasped, "Wow..." They were currently parked out side of a nice restaurant by the beach. "Do you always pull out all the stops on the first date?" Maryse asked as they started walking towards the restaurant.
Mike shook his head, "You get special treatment."
They were seated pretty much immediately and had a lovely seat with a view of the ocean. They talked and laughed and had a nice dinner. Maryse was really enjoying herself and the more she got to know Mike, the less nervous she became. There were still butterflies roaming around in her stomach but it wasn't from nervousness. No, they were from liking him so much.
After dinner they went for a walk on the beach. Maryse held her heels in one hand as the walked. "I had a really nice time." She said.
"Me too..." Mike agreed and grabbed her free hand, intertwining their fingers. "Any chance we'll get to do this again?"
Maryse stopped and smiled at him. "Definitely." She stood on her tip toes and leaned in to kiss him on the cheek. At the last second Mike turned his head and kissed her on the lips. Her eyes drifted closed and she draped her arms on his shoulders and his hands rested on her waist. The pulled out after a few more small kisses. "Any chance of that happening again?" Maryse asked flirtatiously.
Mike smirked, "Definitely.
A/N: I received this as a request on tumblr so I decided to post it here as well. Even though this isn't one of my favorite pairings to write for, I'm pretty happy with it. A review would be awesome ;).
