For scagilicious's ABC fanfic prompts on Tumblr, here's D for Doppelgänger.
It was Pete Lattimer's day off, and so he walked around Univille alone. It was his first time out in the tiny town alone, he mused, as he usually had one of the other Warehouse team members along with him. Today, however, they had all been busy or, in Myka's and Claudia's cases, simply hadn't wanted to come.
And that's when he spotted something awesome.

"Myka Myka Myka!"
Pete rushed into the B&B, running so fast he almost went past the doorway to the living room, where Myka sat reading comfortably. In his hands he held a little kid, no more than four but possibly younger (she never was a great judge of the ages of children), and was grinning like a madman. "Myka! Look what I found!"
"That's great, Pete," she responded automatically, her eyes never leaving her book.
Pete's face fell and he visibly wilted. "You didn't even look," he said dejectedly.
Exasperated, Myka closed the book on her hand. "Okay, fine, Pete, what is it?" She glanced up and her eyebrows shot straight up. "Whoa." The boy was a carbon copy of Pete, in little-kid form. He even wore a grin identical to Pete's.
"I know, it's freaky, right?"
Myka marked her place in the book and stood to inspect the kid. "Where'd you find him and where's his mother?"
"I'm Eddie!" the kid announced cheerily. Myka smiled at him.
"I saw him in town and I've got it all worked out with the mom, trust me. She's in the hallway—hi, Teresa!" He said the last bit a little louder, and a woman's hand waved in the doorway.
"Well, that is strange," Myka said decisively. "I mean, he could be your son." Suddenly she looked up at Pete, a look of suspicion on her face. "Wait, he's not your son, is he?"
Pete tilted his head a bit and gave her a hurt look. "Really, Mykes, is that what you think of me?" She shrugged in defense.
