Barney got up to answer the knock from the door that happened. When he opened the door, he reconized the girl. "Penelope? What are you doing here?" he asked
"Here!" he looked down at her feet, and saw a little girl standing at her feet. "It's your to take her. For good!" exclaimed Penelope. She picked her up and walked in. "I'll give you the birth certificate and everything you need to know in 20 minutes or less."
"What are you talking about?"
She sighed, and set the girl, who very confused, on the couch and rummed her temple. "The night I called you. Five years ago. You hung up on me before I could tell you that I was pregnet. I took care of her for five years, on a low salery and on a life that I will never get back. It's your turn," she walked closer to Barney. "Her name is Jordan Jones. Or Stinson I guess. I'll tell you everything about her, for now. Please just listen."
Barney breathed in. He had to. He didn't excatly love kids, but if it was his daughter, it's different. "Fine," Penelope explained to Jordan what was going to happen, then to Barney. After about 20 minutes, she was at the door, saying goodbye to her daughter. "Thanks for this Barney. I'll keep in touch, K?"
"Of course. Bye,"
Penelope walked off into the hallway, leaving Barney with the little five year old girl."So, your my new Daddy?" he looked back and saw Jordan standing from the couch now next to her pink suitcase.
"Yes. But I'm not very good at parenting thing, so try to go easy on me," she nodded and sat back on the couch. "I'm going to call someone really quick, don't move," Jordan nodded once more, and he raced to his room. He dialed Robin's number, the only person he could think of.
When he answered, he flipped. "Robin! One of my ex's just showed up at my door with a kid, that's apparently mine! I need your help,"
"Calm down Barney. I'm coming over to your place. Now," and with that, Robin hung up. He walked back out to the living room, the girl still sitting on the couch obidently. He slowly walked over and sat next to her. Jordan looked up and smiled. He smiled back down. She climed off the couch and opened her suitcase. She pulled out a little picture in a frame.
"This was me when I was a baby in the hospitol. I was a really small baby," he took the picture and looked at the tiny little baby. Barney rubbed his thumb across Jordan's baby forhead and smiled. "Mommy says I was the cutest baby she ever saw,"
Barney's smile brightend and nodded. "I agree with her. I was also a small baby. You probably got that from me,"
Jordan took the picture back and set it in her suitcase. "Mommy says I got your eyes and hair color. I believe her, 'cause she had hazel eyes and brown hair. You have blue eyes and blonde hair, like me,"
There was a knock on the door, and Barney stood. "Um, that's my girlfriend, Robin. I invited her over to meet you, I guess," said Barney. Jordan just nooded, then pulled a doll out of her suitcase. He answered the door and saw Robin's face. "Hey. Um, come in," Robin did so, then kissed him. "OK Robin, this is my daughter. Jordan,"
Jordan stood and walked over to her. "Hi," forced out Robin, still shocked that Barney had a daughter. "I'm Robin. Barney's girlfriend. It's very nice to meet you,"
Robin leaned down so she was eye level with Jordan. They shook hands and Jordan opened her mouth to speak. "It's nice to meet you too," she responed then went back to sitting on the couch.
"We need to talk," whispered Barney. "Let's go to my room," Robin nodded and walked in the direction. "I'm going to talk with Robin in my room, just don't get into trouble, K sweetie?"
"OK Daddy," he stopped short in his walk and looked back to Jordan. Daddy. He could never get used to being called that. He just contunied to walk in to his room. Robin was sitting on the bed when he walked in, her head burried in her hands.
"Are you OK Robin?"
She shook her head. "Barney. There is a little girl out there, that was given to you because the mom was being selfish and just wanted her life back," Robin stood and walked over to Barney. "That girl out there, has lost her mom! Why are you taking this so smootly?"
"For my daughter, Robin. I have to be there for her now. I can take this if it's better for her," said Barney. Robin started to cry and Barney brought her into a hug. She sobbed into his sholder and wrapped her arms around his waist. "Robin. I need to support her, but I can't alone. Can you please help me?"
Robin nodded. "Of course I can. But, right now, I want you to bond with your daughter. You'll be taking care of her for a while," said Robin. "I can call the others and tell them what's going on. K?"
"Sure," then Barney walked out of the room back to the living room where she was sitting, playing with a doll, "Hey sweetie," he sat next to her and put her on his lap. She giggled slightly the rested her head on his chest. Once she did, he wrapped his arms around her and kissed the top of her head. Jordan snuggled closer, and he looked down and saw a tear run down her face. "Why are you crying?"
She sniffed the looked up. "Because I miss my mommy. Lots,"
"I know you do, but I'm going to take care of you just as much as you mom did. Maybe even better," he lifted her head higher, and wiped a tear away from her check and brought he closer to her chest. "Because I love you,"
"I love you too,"
Robin came out of his room, but stopped short in around the corner. She stood there looking at the two and smiled to herself. Robin knew that Barney would end up being over-joyed that he was a dad. She contunied to walk to the living room and sat down at the couch. When she looked over, Jordan's eyes were closed and Barney had his chin on her head. "How is she?" asked Robin.
"Fine. Just misses her mom a lot, I guess," said Barney. Robin scooted closer and leaned her head on his sholder. "How could I be upset? I have the two most important girls in the world right here," this made Jordan's head come up grogerly. He kissed Jordan's forehead, which made her giggle then kissed Robin on the lips.
"Is she gonna be my new mommy, daddy?" asked Jordan.
Barney and Robin both stared at each other, not knowing what to say. Then they knew exactly what to say. "Maybe someday she will be. We don't know right now though," then they smiled to each other.
That night, when Robin left, she said she was going to call a moving truck and move in by next week. In the middle of the night, Barney heard a tiny whimper and he opened his eyes. Standing in front of him was Jordan, clutching her doll and crying. "What's wrong sweetie?"
"Nighmare. 'Bout mommy..." whimpered Jordan
"Climb on in honey," Jordan did son and curled into his chest. "What did you dream about mommy?"
"That, she left because she didn't love me anymore, and becuase I was a bad kid," she umcurled from him a little bit, then turned over in the bed. Barney pulled her back into his chest and kissed her head.
Then he sighed. "You mom gave you to me because she was doing it for her own good. She wanted her life back, before she got pregnet, so she decided that it was time for me to take care of you. Forever. You might see her again, who knows, but I'm pretty sure she still loves you,"
She nodded the closed her eyes and yawned. "Nigh nigh, daddy,"
"Nigh nigh, sweetie,"
