Chrissy awoke around nine o'clock expecting to find Steve next to her, lying flat on his stomach with his arm flung over the side of the bed. Unfortunately, all she saw as she opened her eyes was an empty side of the bed. She sighed. It had barely been six hours and she was already missing him like crazy. She wasn't sure exactly how she'd gotten on that plane to L.A. almost two weeks ago. It had clearly been a lapse in judgment on her part. Now, she hated even being this far away from him.

Swinging her legs over the side of the bed, she glanced at her phone. There was a new text from Steve. She had to laugh. Steve hated texting and took forever at it. However, he had obviously put his reservations aside and done it. She couldn't wait to see what case information had been so important.

Chrissy opened the text. It read: Hope you got some sleep. We had a long day yesterday and then we jumped right into a case. Typical day at Five-0, I guess. I'll be sending you some photos I want Molly and her family to look over. I'll call you later today. I love you.

Chrissy sighed. She loved that she'd softened the steely Steve McGarrett down into a loving yet slightly overprotective boyfriend. In his work, he still had his crazy focus and determination, but he tried to set it aside when he walked through the door. Now, it would be a lot different because both of them would be working with Five-0. She knew they would figure it out, though.

A few hours later, over a nice breakfast prepared by Chrissy and Molly (with breakfast cocktails by Victoria), all of them were talking about normal things. Chrissy could tell that it was as hard for Molly to be away from Mike as it was for her to be away from Steve. However, she carried on like a trooper. Christina tried to mask her loneliness with smiles, but her pain was obvious as well. All the men (aside from Vince) had to be on the main island saving the world while everyone else waited here for everything to be safe. It was just nerve-wracking.

Victoria nudged Chrissy in between her second and third cocktails. She whispered, "Hey, you know that short, cute guy that was with your boyfriend ordering everybody around?"

Chrissy couldn't help the laugh that escaped from her mouth. "You mean Danny."

Victoria smiled. "Yeah, I think that was his name. What do you know about him?"

Chrissy replied, "Well, his last name is Williams. He's my co-worker at Five-0. He has a ten-year-old daughter named Grace who he absolutely adores. He's slightly overprotective and can be a bit hotheaded at times. Overall, he's a heck of a guy."

"He's a cop, right?"

"Yeah, although his official title is detective."

"How by-the-book is he?"

"Pretty by-the-book. He likes to think things through and do them properly. Steve tends to act impulsively and think later."

"I take it he wouldn't take kindly to pot smoking?"

Chrissy laughed. "I don't know. You'd have to ask him."

Victoria didn't answer, and looked down at the floor.

Chrissy's grin widened. "Oh my God! You have a crush on Danny!"

"Well, he is pretty cute."

"Why don't you talk to him?"

"I would, but I'm not sure he'd take me seriously. I'm afraid he would laugh me off."

"Danny wouldn't do that if he knew you were serious. Give me a couple of days. You may have a date to your mother's wedding."

"You'd do that for me?"

"Absolutely. Danny is like a brother to me, and I think he needs someone. He's been alone too long."

"You're the best, Chrissy."

"What are friends for?"
