"Let me go!" I scream. I can still barely hear Nathanial yelling for me but his voice is slowly fading as I get dragged deeper into the tunnel. "I said, let me go!" I kick out at the person that was dragging me into the tunnel. Since I cannot see, I am surprised to feel my foot connect with something and I feel something snap directly underneath it.

"Bitch!" The man yells and I get dropped.

I force myself to my feet and I beg my legs and feet to carry me back to Nathanial. I start to run the way the man and me came from. And soon, arms engulf me. I am afraid, I cry out and I start to kick out, trying to get the person away from me.

"Amara, stop!" Nathanial yells and I immediately stop trying to hurt the boy whose arms I am still in.

"Don't let me go." I whisper and I snuggle my face into his chest. "Never let me go."

"I won't." He replies and kisses the top of my head. Then he gently grabs my chin, pushes it up, looks me in the eye, says, "I love you, Amara," and gently kisses me. My eyes widen at what he's doing but I surprisingly find myself into his charm and kissing him back.

Deep growling makes me pull out of Nathanial's arms and turn around. In the darkness of the tunnel, I only see a pair of beady purple eyes. Then I see fangs.

"Amara, run!" Nathanial yells as he steps in front of me. I do what I am told. I run as fast I can down the tunnel and am soon blinded by the sunlight.

I just sit down in the grass, a few feet away, and stare into the tunnel, hoping that Nathanial will be okay.

"Don't move from this spot until he comes back." I whisper to myself.

An eagle cry turned my attention to the sky. There was a wounded eagle coming in for a crash landing and it was going to crash soon. Its left wing looked broken and it was bleeding. It sores over me then crashes into the woods with another wounded cry.

I get up from my spot and I run into the woods, trying to find the eagle that had just crashed. I want to see if it was okay. I find it next to a tree a few minutes later. But then it turns into a human. My human; Nathanial.

"You—You Changed into an eagle?" I ask him, my eyes wide and my voice full of surprise. I help him sit up since he was laying on his side then I sit down next to him. I look at his arm; it was broken but it didn't really seem to bother him. And he was bleeding from a big gash in his face. That too didn't seem to bother him.

"Yeah, I did. All Daemon's can Change into an Animal. But what that Animal is, is unknown. You'll just change into one, one day and that's your Animal. I Changed into an eagle one day and from that day forth, when I Changed, I Changed into an eagle." He explains to me. "Just like the guy in the tunnel, his Animal was a lynx."

"I wonder what my Animal will be." I think aloud.

"Who knows." He replies to me.

"How do you do it?" I ask him. "Change I mean.

"I am not sure how to explain it…" Nathanial trails off into an uncomfortable silence and he stares at me. "It just… Happens I guess."
