Author's Note: Don't ask me where I got this idea from because I have no idea myself. It doesn't have a soild ending and it is a one-shot so not much will come of this. This does take place in the future of Surviving In the World of Vampires but doesn't tell you what's coming up in the story so yea. In the future, Char is married to Damon and Megan is to Stefan. Basically what this is about, is that Char wants a baby like Stefan and Megan (who's daughter is adopted so Char wants to adopt). I hope that you do enjoy it even if it does end apruptly. Charlene's POV…

"I want a baby." I told Damon one day…a Monday to be exact.

Damon raised an eyebrow at me, "Babe you do know that you're a vampire now, you can't have a baby."

"So," I whined. "We can totally adopt!"

"I told you I don't want kids. I wouldn't be a good father."

I pouted at him as I went to sit on his lap. "Yes you would," I said. "Just because that you had horrible father, doesn't mean you're going to be."

Damon smirked as he leaned in to kiss me. Before his lips could touch mine though, I turned my head so that his lips pressed on my cheek. I turned to my head back only to see a pout on Damon's lips. I rolled my eyes before kissing his pout away. I let out a sudden laugh as he flipped me over onto my back on the bed so that he was on top of me. I sighed as he kissed my neck and my hands slipped in the back of his black shirt.

"Just so you know I still want to have a baby and this happening isn't going to change that," I mumbled as Damon continued to kiss my neck.

Damon pulled back and groaned. I giggled as Damon hoisted my body off of the bed and returned me to my previous spot on his lap.

"You're so stubborn," he told me affectionately, kissing the slope of my nose.

He said this as if I didn't know this already. Damon's hands cupped my face as his thumbs brushed my cheeks. I closed my eyes and let out a sigh of contentment.

"I hope everything is G rated in this room!"

I rolled my eyes at the sound of Megan's voice coming from Damon's bedroom door. I twisted around in Damon's lap to see my friend. Megan stood in Damon's room with a grin on her face. Rested on her hip was her two year old adopted daughter, Anna, who oddly looked exactly like her adopted parents. She had Megan's nose, eyes, and hair color while she had Stefan's beautiful green eyes. Don't ask me how Stefan and Megan were able to adopt a kid that looked like them…because I didn't know myself.

"Say hi to Auntie Charlene," Megan cooed in a baby voice to her daughter.

Anna waved shyly to me and I couldn't help but squeal at how cute it looked. I jumped off of Damon's lap ignoring his groan of disappointment and made my way over to Megan and scooped Anna into my arms. The little girl let out excited giggles as I did this.

"You so cute," I squealed squeezing her tightly, but reminding myself not to be too tight. My niece was still human. Meg and Stef had decided that they were going to wait until Anna was old enough to make her own decision about whether or not she wanted to be a vampire.

Anna just giggled at me, curling her small arms around my neck.

I turned to face Damon with Anna still in my arms. I watched as his blue eyes intently grazed over me and Anna with affection. I couldn't help but giggle silently. I glanced over my shoulder at Megan who had a smirk on her lips, obviously seeing the affection in Damon's eyes as he looked at Anna and I. Her eyes sparkled with amusement.

'He so wants a kid' she mouthed to me, her mouth shaping into smile as she mouthed to me.

I just rolled my eyes at Megan. I placed Anna back on the ground. As soon as I did this, Anna made her way over to Damon reaching her arms out once she was to him. For someone who doesn't want kids, kids really seemed to like Damon for some reason. Obviously the pleading look in Anna's eyes was enough for Damon to pick the little girl in his arms.

"Aw look how cute you two are," Megan cooed as she went to stand beside me.

Damon just rolled his eyes at her before looking down at Anna, who was looking up at him. "Hello Stefan," he said without glancing up.

I jumped feeling an arm around my shoulders. I heard a laugh coming from the other side of me. I looked and grinned brightly at the sight of my brother-in-law.

"Stefan," I said brightly, wrapping one of my arms around his waist for a one-armed hug.

"Finally asked Damon about adopting a kid," Stefan said, looking over at his brother.

Damon glanced up at his brother surprised, "Wait…you knew that she was going to ask me this."

Stefan grinned, "She's been talking about this for weeks, months even."

I nudged Stefan in the side hard as I scowled at him. I didn't want Damon to know that…

"Ignore him," I said still scowling at Stefan. "He's just over imagining things."

Megan made the mistake of speaking.

"Huh, huh, sure he was. Who was the one who whined to me a couple of days ago again saying…" She cleared her throat and started to speak again trying and succeeding to imitate my voice, "'Megan…I want to adopt a kid so badly. I mean—I've been thinking about this for months and I still haven't asked Damon about it. I even started to look at adoption agencies when Damon's not looking on the com—'"

I slapped a hand over Megan's mouth effectively shutting her up. I forced myself not to look over at Damon, having a feeling that his lips were in a straight line and his eyes flashed with silent anger. I honestly had no idea what he was pissed off about, probably because I told everyone else about my idea to adopt before I told him.

"We should go," Megan said to Stefan quietly.

Stefan nodded in agreement. He headed over to Damon and picked up Anna. Silently, Megan and Stefan left the room leaving me and Damon alone…

"I should go too," I said quickly and turned to leave but Damon blocked me from leaving.

Being alone with Damon when he was angry wasn't a good thing. So I wanted to leave the room as quickly as possible but I knew we had to talk about this though.

I sighed and headed back over to Damon's bed sitting on the end of the bed. Damon went to sit beside me. I looked away from him as Damon spoke to me.

"Why did you tell Stefan and Megan that you wanted to have a baby before you told me?"

I shrugged being my stubborn self by not speaking. I glanced over at Damon from the corner of my eye. He didn't look angry anymore but calm...a sort of calm that was kind of scary. I knew he wouldn't hurt me not that he could. I was a vampire (insert laughter here). And besides that, Damon wasn't the kind of person that he was when I first came here to the world of the Vampire Diaries. Thank god for that. If I can survive Katherine, Abigail, and Demetria all at once and getting involved in the supernatural things happening in Mystic Falls, I can survive talking to Damon Salvatore.

"I was going to tell you first Damon, really I was," I told him as he took my hand in his, curling his fingers through mine before giving my hand a soft squeeze. "But Megan was just there and I couldn't hold it in anymore. You know me Damon; I can't keep things in for long."

Damon laughed, "Yeah…that sounds like you."

"Oh shut up," I snapped but not angrily. I laughed as I playfully shoved his shoulder.

Damon chuckled.
