This is my first fanfic on FFN, please enjoy it and feel free to critique.

Warning - I do not own Infinite Stratos, it is owned by Izuru Yumizuru. I however, love the series.

I never knew that I could pilot an IS. When I figured out I could, I thought that I had the potential to be an amazing pilot. Yet here I am, getting into trouble and having my gender questioned every now and then…

Well... I better accept my fate, or end up in a worse situation.

-April 7th, 2018-

I can't believe it! I, who is an insignificant male in this world, is about to be the test pilot of a new I.S model with a completely new design and differs from current IS Units today. What else to say? Oh yes! I transferred from my normal school to IS Academy! Are you serious?

If you're wondering what I'm talking about…well…here's my story.

I 'was' an ordinary guy, my name is Taka Naito. I adored IS, the fights were amazing to watch, and as much as I wanted to use one, I knew I wasn't capable of using it, yet destiny had something else in store for me. I remember what happened, like it was yesterday. Wait, it was yesterday.

-Flashback, April 6th,2018-

It was a normal day. School ended, so I decided to take a shortcut through a park. While walking through the park, I happened to find a secret passage to an underground cave, located right under a park bench. It's very clever yet very stupid. Regardless, I decided to explore for curiosity's sake, and I ended up in an underground lab.

It was very well lit, and had quite a number of computers. While looking around I saw an IS unit on a platform, it was colored gold, white and black. It was a fully armored IS, which is very rare, and it looked very much like golden paladin armor with wings resembling that of the Legendary White Knight.

"What are you doing here? "A strange voice asked.

I turned around and saw a silhouette in the shadows; it looked roughly 5"8 and seemed male. I moved back a bit and kept my focus on the stranger.

"You know that trespassing is a crime, and there will be consequences. "The person said in a dark tone. "The rule is, trespassers will be shot, survivors will be shot again…and if you're still alive I will have to use a chainsaw."

I turned around and started to run, only to collide with the IS. The IS started to boot up after I made contact with it. "W-what?"

The man laughed for a moment before putting his hand to his head. "I see. So he has finally chosen a partner."

What did he mean by partner? Why the hell would an IS react to a male? I don't understand anything!

"Congratulations young lady… The Kōtetsu Tenshi has chosen you as its pilot. "The mysterious man said enthusiastically. "Kōtetsu Tenshi is picky with people, so it chooses its own pilot."

"I am not a girl! "I shouted, clearly enraged by being called 'Young lady'.

"You're not?" He responded with a hint of curiosity in his voice" That might be a problem if the entire world finds out…"

I was a bit confused, why would I be involved with other countries just by being able to pilot an IS?

It then hit me. I am possibly the second male that can pilot an IS! I had seen the first one on the news, Ichika Orimura. There are rumors saying that the entire world wanted to look at his genetic code and use it as a base for allowing males to pilot IS.

"I do not want to be a lab rat." I muttered. My life would be ruined if that happened; fortunately, destiny had something else in store for me.

The man took out a cellphone and asked "Then, how about enrolling in IS Academy?" .He dialed a number, waited for a bit and then someone answered.

"Yea, I want to transfer a student over to I.S Academy….Country? Japan obviously."

I was wondering why this man would go to great lengths just to keep me from being a human specimen. I'm just a talentless male who can pilot an IS.

"…The students a guy…no…not Ichika Orimura, someone else." The stranger says, with a clearly irritated tone. I also heard him say something about an experimental model.

The man hanged up and walked out of the shadows. I was able to see his features. He had short black hair with his bangs swept to the right side, and black eyes behind his glasses. He was wearing standard scientist attire.

"Allow me to introduce myself. I shall not tell you my real name, but I will give you my alias. Call me Professor Satoshi."

-End of Flashback-

Well…here I am, in IS Academy! I am the second male that is able to pilot IS, and now in the same class as the first male, Ichika Orimura.

I gave a bow and said "It's a pleasure to meet you, my name is Taka Naito. Please take care of me."

The most girls were talking to each other. I could hear what some of them were saying.

"Doesn't that look like a girl, rather than a boy?"

"It doesn't seem like a coincidence that another male appeared a few days after Orimura-kun was introduced."

I got irritated at the first remark." I'm not a girl dammit!"

I was struck in the head by a blunt object and I heard the voice of the very person I idolized. "Be quiet. Do not be like Orimura and cause trouble on your first day."

I turned around and saw Chifuyu Orimura herself.

"I'm sorry, please forgive me."

Chifuyu eased up a bit and gave me a warning, saying that another outburst could get me something worse than a book to the head.

"Call me Orimura-sensei while you're here. I'm your teacher after all."

I must remember not to piss off Orimura-sensei. Being hit by that book hurts like hell.

Oh yay, this is my first Fan fiction that I posted, I kept wondering what it would be if there was a male who is mistaken as a female. Kind of similar to the Charles/Charlotte, except that this character is a genuine boy.
