A little get together

Just a little one shot really

Pairings if any: Mostly One sided Kara/Dick, and mention of slight Bruce/Dinah.

It was the 8th Annual Justice League Banquet held every first of January, all members were invited to have a good time, chat and catch up with Old Friends, and they were also famous for the large amounts of drama that would occur.

From Gotham City we had, Bruce Wayne a.k.a Batman, Dick Grayson known as Nightwing, Tim Drake former Robin, now known as Red Robin and Damian Wayne a.k.a current Robin and Jason Todd who is known as the Red Hood, Stephanie Brown a.k.a Batgirl 3 and Cassandra Cain the Black Bat, many consider him still emotionally unstable he doesn't care though. For a guy who was considered a loner, Bruce had a rather large family and he was barely 31, He met Dick Grayson the first Robin, now 20 years old, Jason Todd Wayne who was 18 years old, Tim Drake Wayne now 15 Cassandra was 17, Steph was 16, and now an actual legitimate son named Damian who was at least 11 now. Bruce was no longer a playboy philanthropist, well he was still a philanthropist but he had adopted a more mature, kind and typical business man persona. The playboy in the family was no Dick Grayson, whose persona was even more alcoholic and immature than Bruce's, Jason was the more the typical rich boy college student; Damian was a spoiled brat both in public and in costume.

Then came the Kent Family from Metropolis, There was Clark Kent a.k.a Superman, Linda Kent (Kara Zor EL) a.k.a Supergirl and Lois, no one knows how she figured out everyone's identity she just did, Clark was good friends with Bruce, even if Bruce would never openly admit it in front of everyone, Kara disliked Bruce because of his pessimistic and paranoid personality. Although her opinion of Dick Grayson was the exact opposite, she had crush on him since the day she met him and he had always been her closest friend, seriously other than Wonder Girl, Dick was the person she would talk to and spend time with the most, he of course was oblivious of her crush which was a damn shame since Bruce spent years cramming the art of deduction into the young man's Brain! Granted most heroes and even crooks could easily tell him apart from Bruce because he was more cocky and energetic, not to mention extremely chatty, which explained why he and Wally West were best friends, granted he tried to be like Bruce he really did, but sometimes he got out of hand, especially when he was having fun, can you blame him, he was barely out of his teens and he already had to become Batman, admittedly a year younger than Bruce but the point still stands. He and Kara often went on patrol together, she enjoyed their adventures the only thing she didn't quite like was DAMIAN, that name was evil, there was nothing likeable about that little bastard, and she could scream it to the high heavens.

Next we had the Arrow Family, Oliver Queen he was 5 years older than Bruce also known as Green Arrow, he and Bruce went way back and he is a worse than playboy than Bruce or Dick could have ever been since it was his actual personality, this of course cost him the respect of his adopted ward Roy Harper and his girlfriend Dinah Lance who's old crush on Bruce began to re-surface, Ollie of course was growing more increasingly Jealous and ended up disliking his once good friend for something that was his fault.

Finally we have Wonder Woman, Donna Troy, Green Lantern Hal Jordon, Martian Man Hunter masquerading as John Smith, Flash Barry Allen and Wally West a retired Kid Flash aswell as Bart Allen also known as Impulse.

Everyone was mingling Bart and Damian were arguing over who would win in a fight, Dick and Wally were catching up for old time's sake, Tim was chattering on about his latest adventure with Donna Troy who was uninterested and Jason was sneaking glances at Donna, Supergirl was stuffing her face full of various types of food, saving the world worked up quite an appetite you know. Anyway Dick finally walked over to wear she was stuffing her face and said hello.

"Hey Kara, it's been a while" Dick said as he put out his hand.

"Hey Dick, it's been forever since we've seen each other!" She said as she brought him into a suffocating embrace.

"Uh, Kara I can't breathe" He squeaked as he was being chocked.

She quickly let go of and rubbed the back of her head in embarrassment, "Sorry" Dick quickly caught his breath and waved it off "No problem, so anyway how've you been, anything interesting happen?"

"No not really, so how about you, what's like being Batman now that Bruce is back?" Kara asked.

"It's same old same old, although I didn't realize what he was going through until I actually became the Batman." Dick said.

"I gotta say I like you better as Batman than him" Kara added flirtatiously

"What can I say I'm chatty its part of my charm" Dick added with a smile

Dick's Smart Phone started beeping and a bat symbol popped up on the screen, he received a text from Bruce, he texts him back and then he turns toward Kara.

"Duty calls" Dick said

"Let's do this" Kara added

Kara spun around at Super Speed and in instant she was Supergirl by the time she turned towards Dick, he was already wearing his Nightwing costume.

"How do you do that?" Nightwing replies with a smirk

"Practice."

The two leave and run towards the commosion in town, Dick was on his motor cycle and Supergirl was flying, the two ended up running into Bane oddly enough, what he was doing in New York was beyond them, but it didn't matter.

"Bane, what are you doing here?" Dick asked preparing to fight.

"Heh, sorry hermano I can't let you in on everything just yet" Bane said

"Ding Ding time's up pal" Supergirl said as she flew towards Bane, only to be punched by Banshee.

"Banshee?!" Nightwing exclaimed

Dick then turned his attention towards Bane whom was charging at him, Bane through a punch and Dick did a back flip to dodge him, then kicked Bane in the face, Dick threw another punch across his jaw and tried to throw another only for his fist to be caught and his arm twisted, then Bane lifted him up and threw him. Supergirl was fighting Banshee and was winning; Kara punched Banshee in the gut, then kneed her in face, grabbed her head and slammed it into the ground.

"Give up Banshee" Supergirl stated acting superior

"I'm just getting started" Banshee stated as she threw a sonic screech at Supergirl

Supergirl was pushed back and Banshee jumped on top of her and kept screaming in her face, Nightwing was getting whooped by Bain and the brute threw him into a car and tried to jump on him but he moved out of the way and punched him in the face, then he jumped over Bane and tried to pull out the tube in his head, But the mercenary shook him off and kicked him away. "She is really starting to piss me off." Supergirl was thrown back as well and she and Nightwing were back to back.

"So how's it going?" Dick asked

"Terrible, Banshee's screaming is getting in the way." Supergirl said

"Heh, I'm not doing much better either, let's switch dance partners."

"Sure"

Dick jumped over Supergirl and threw a eskrima stick at Banshee, the villainous tried to scream but the stick hit her in the throat, Supergirl flew toward Bane at full speed and sent a bone shattering punch straight to his jaw, sending the villain flying through a window and blood spurting out of his busted lip. Nightwing landed near Banshee and hit her with a punch to the gut, a kick to the face, a chop to the throat and a scissor lock throw on the ground. He then took out his eskrima sticks and struck her in the back with both of them, and electrocuted her knocking her out.

"That was easy, how'd she give you so much trouble Kara?

"I could ask the same about Bane." She replied smirking

"Umm, Super Strenght duh"

"Excuses, excuses"

"Whatever let's get back, I'm starving and I want to get something to eat before Wally gets to the food."

"Wait Dick, there's something I want to tell you."

"What's that?"

She grew weary under his gaze their matching blue eyes staring straight into each other.

"I uh, just wanted to say nice job hehehe,"

"Oh, thanks you were awesome too"

"I guess"

"No, seriously Kara, you're a truly amazing person, you have so much power yet you can be as gentle as a feather, your kind and funny and you have a wonderful personality, I'm proud of the person you've become, just like Superman is, just like Wonder Woman, and even Batman is impressed.

Kara just stood there quietly and Dick raised an eyebrow and waved a hand in front of her face, and almost out of nowhere she hugged him tightly smooshing her face into his and was laughing happily "That means a lot, thanks Dick!" Nightwing was looking embarrassed and was struggling to get free "Uh Kara, your embarrassing me a little." She pulled her face back a little and looked him straight into the eyes and kissed him, his eyes grew wide and after a few seconds they broke apart.

"That's what I wanted to tell you" Supergirl said

"Your very strange Supergirl, I can tell you that much" he said smiling cockily

The two began to walk away and she noticed how he was walking as if he was trying to hide something, to which she giggled lightly. She then flew up and grabbed him by the waist and took them high into the air "What's this about?" Kara looked down towards him "Don't you wanna fly, you are a bird after all", "Well when you put it that way" Dick spread his arms out and Kara began to pick up speed and they flew back towards the Banquet.
