A rusty garbage bin,
Along with toys of tin
Amidst soaked papers,
and broken windshield scrapers
Amass together in this place,
The barren, icy woods of Fox Chase.

If all were once loved and of use
These old clumps of refuse
Is the weathered box with a boy with hair cropped short
And dark bruises that distort
His soft features that flushed when he was in a race
Out of place?
