Sunshine and Summertime
I started writing this couple on a whim and completely fell hard for them. Although "my" Summer is Lindsay Bushman and always will be, no matter what crazy Jill Farren Phelps pulls. Anyway, here we go. I will add to this every few days until it's done!
A – Age
He was the wrong age. He was much too old for her being twenty-two to her sixteen-and-a-half. He was cocky and an unrepentant ladies' man. But his worst offense? He was an Abbott by birth and Newmans simply were not friends of Abbotts. Summer knew no one in her family would want her to have anything to do with him and yet, he was so hot! He had the sexiest smile… And he was so thoughtful when he thought no one was looking. He knew her favorite drink was a skim latte. He knew her favorite song was "All I Have to Give" by the Backstreet Boys. Something he teased her unmercifully about and yet that didn't annoy her. He looked at her and really saw the true Summer Newman.
All the reasons he was wrong for her didn't matter in the end. Because she already loved him – wholly, completely … irrevocably.
B – Befriend
Things had started out rather simply between them. She never would have believed that he could befriend her so quickly – that he could so easily slip under her radar and so effortlessly punch down all her inhibitions. But he had done those very things and to think, it had just begun mere months ago…
The annual Genoa City arts gala was in full swing but everyone's attention was riveted not to her aunt Abby's beautiful decorations but to Summer's mom Phyllis whose eyes were flashing with fire as she stared down a doe-eyed Sharon Collins and told her in no uncertain terms to stay the fuck away from Summer's dad. Yes, she used that word in front of everyone. Sharon brazenly replied that she would fuck around with anyone she chose. Phyllis called her a homewrecking slut and soon fists were flying and Phyllis and Sharon took a tumble into the seven-tiered cake. Summer tried to help her mother up but Phyllis was flailing about too much and then Summer's brother Noah told her to go before it got any worse. She hesitated. She really wanted to help her mom beat the crap out of Sharon but Noah told her to go again in no uncertain terms. She soon found herself sitting outside in front of the stone fountain, swirling a finger in the water and stirring up the fish living there. She turned when she heard footsteps behind her. She saw Kyle Abbott saunter out of the dining room with some brunette bimbo on his strong arm. The brunette hung on his every word and also stuck to him like a fly on flypaper. "That was some party," Kyle said. "There's nothing I like more than two hot women rolling around in a pile of frosting and cake…" He winked at Summer pointedly then and she felt like splashing him. So she did. "Hey!" He snapped as the brunette screamed and ran off to save her dress from ruin. "Look what you did, Summer." "You deserve a lot worse than that for saying those things about my mom! She was your stepmother at one point if I'm not mistaken." Kyle smiled. "You're right. That is kind of incestuously kinky… So the ginger is out of the question … Can I have the blonde one?" "Why not? No one else wants her," Summer said and realized she was laughing. The giggles felt delicious dancing on her lips. Kyle smirked. "You know, Summer Newman, I like your attitude. You entertain me." Summer smirked back even as she felt her heart begin to hammer against her ribcage. "Everyone likes my attitude. Everyone likes me, period," she said. He just winked at her and right then, she knew something had shifted. Not just between them, but inside of her.
C - Chase
"Don't you ever get tired of chasing after a guy who doesn't –"
"Tiffani Gutierrez! Don't you dare say Kyle doesn't want me!" Summer chided her best friend.
Tiffani twirled a strand of curly dark brown hair around her finger. "I was going to say uh …"
"Ugh." Summer rolled her eyes as they moved up in line, fake IDs in hand. They had come to Genoa City's hot new club Coliseum for one reason and one reason only – to make sure Kyle didn't get a chance to go too far with Eden Baldwin. Summer had overheard them talking (okay, they were actually flirting) earlier that day at Crimson Lights and she knew Kyle had invited the pretty brunette barista as his date to the club opening. If Summer was honest with herself, she would have to admit that she felt threatened by Eden who was so mature and so beautiful. Why couldn't Eden just be with her brother Daniel instead though? Why did she need Kyle?!
They moved to the front of the line and the big, burly bouncer looked at them curiously and then back at their IDs. Summer shifted nervously on her high-heeled feet and willed herself not to melt under the big guy's scrutiny.
"Are your names really Lola and Francine?" He asked them.
Summer nodded. "Yes of course! But everyone calls me Frannie."
"Alright, Frannie, are you sure you're really twenty-one?" The bouncer asked skeptically.
Summer rested her hand on her hip. "Yes, of course."
"Yeah what do you think – that our IDs are fakes?" Tiffani chortled nervously. Summer elbowed her in the side.
"Actually I do think that," the bouncer said. "So scram!"
"Well you heard him, Summer," Tiffani said. "Too bad." Summer knew Tiffani hadn't wanted to come out tonight at all. She would rather stay home and watch movies and eat popcorn but Summer was determined. She hadn't put on five inch heels and black fishnets for nothing!
Summer looked at the bouncer. "I think I have something that will change your mind." She started to fish a twenty dollar bill out of her purse but just then she spotted none other than Kyle and Eden heading towards the rear door.
"Kyle! KYLE!" She waved him over. "Tell this man that I'm twenty-one."
Kyle looked at her with a smirk on his too-gorgeous face and then finally nodded at the bouncer. "Yeah, Tiny, she's twenty-one. Let her in."
Tiny, the misnamed bouncer, just shook his head and let them inside after all.
Kyle and Summer and Tiffani walked into the club and Summer asked Kyle in awe, "How did you get him to let us in so easily?"
Kyle shrugged. "Tiny and I play poker together. He owes me one." Then he smiled his million-watt smile at her and walked over to Eden who was eyeing them curiously and suspiciously.
Summer sighed and looked over at Tiffani. "So … what should we do next?"
"To get Kyle's attention?" Tiffani asked. "I think you already have. Those fishnets are impossible to ignore!"

A/N: Tiffani is obviously an original character. I needed a friend and sidekick for Summer and she was born. I picture her looking like Raini Rodriguez from the Disney show "Austin and Ally". She is Raul and Diego's cousin.
