Eva locked the door behind her, She had to
write in her journal.
She couldn't tell Neil about what she felt
about her job. He had always thought that she loved it.
She wrote the first word.
April.
Then she wrote the rest,
April wasn't the month, or the current
month. It was our first patient , Mine and Neil's.
She
started to get watery in her eyes.
She couldn't do it. Write the pain she
felt, when she looked in April's Memories.
It wasn't just her and Neil's first
patient, She started to write again,
It was a little girl, But not just
that, it was…
My niece.
Eva started to cry… Her only Niece was
her first patient…
She finished writing,
I wish I talk to her once more… That's
all today, my little angel…
She finally wrote,
I love you April… Love, Eva Rosalene.
Someone knocked.
"I'll be right there…" Eva got up and
unlocked the door. There stood Neil.
Neil smiled. "Wanna do another
all-nighter?"
Eva Sighed, "Again? It's 5pm…"
"I know, But a job is a job… Wait,
Shouldn't you be getting me out at 5pm to work? Whats up?"
"Stomach Virus. Let's go"
And for some reason… Neil didn't
believe Eva one bit.
"I'll drive genius."
"There's my Eva."
"Shut up."
Eva got into the silvery car that
looked too big on the outside, but was incredibly small on the inside.
After a while of drive down the
deserted highway, Neil got incredibly bored. Like we didn't Know THIS was gonna
happen.
"So what is wrong Eva?"
"I told you it's just a headache…"
"You said It was a Stomach Virus."
Eva sighed, "Crap.
Neil frowned, "So what is it?"
"Nothing. I got A Stomach Virus and a
Headache."
"Why won't you tell me?"
"WHY WON'T YOU SHUT UP! I'M DRIVING AND
THERES NOTHING WRONG. GOD, YOUR ANNOYING. WHY DON'T YOU MIND YOUR OWN BUSINESS
NEIL!" Eva Calmed down, "Why don't you just turn on the radio."
And For once, Neil Listened to radio
for the rest of the way, Worrying about Eva.
All. The. Way. There.
"We're here."
Neil got out of the car.
He remembered to get the equipment,
Just because he didn't want to anger here once more. He was afraid of
unleashing her pain.
Neil wanted to help her, But she wanted
to be alone.
"Hurry up…"
He walked to the small cottage
entrance. "It's time to work…" Neil
thought.
Eva Knocked.
"Why the Hell is he so worried about me,"
Eva Knocked again.
"He
should just, Keep to himself, Before He finds out."
Eva Knocked Again…
"And
he should Focus on The work ahead, And not me."
Eva almost knocked again, But she heard
a voice yell from within.
"I'm
Coming!"
Eva Sighed, A nightshift, As usual…
…At least for her.
A Petite young housemaid opened the
door, She was dressed in a black dress with an apron ontop of it, just like a
regular maid, But a design had been stitched on the front. It now currently
read Concorde's Maid service.
The
patients a Concorde? They made women's clothing… Eva thought.
"You two must be and
, Come in, She's in the room up the stairs.
So
the patients a girl? This should be fun… Eva walked up the stairs, Leading
Neil, since the heavy and large equipment was blocking his frontline of sight.
She opened the door and paused.
"The patient is a little girl… Neil.
This will be-" Eva cleared her throat, "Easier then I guess.
Neil set the equipment down and sighed.
"This
is why I take Painkillers Eva… The sad sights. It's all so, Depressing…"
Neil stood up, "Uh, Maid, Where are her parents? We need to speak with them."
The Maid turned and said "Oh June's
Parents? I'll go get them now, Just a minute…"
"June? That's her name…" Eva spoke
outloud…
Neil wanted to know what was her
problem, But he knew the answer…
"Oh Neil, It's the Virus talking…And the headache." "Stop worrying Neil, I'm fine…" "Shut up and focus, Idiot."
badly though…
Curiosity
killed the cat, But he wasn't a cat. He was just a guy who really needed a
shower.
"Ah, and !
Welcome!"
Neil turned and saw a tall man, about
four inches taller than him standing right in front of the entrance. "Oh yea
that's us, We need to talk about your daughter…"
Eva looked at . He wasn't as
tall as he looked in magazines, but they were magazines.
"So what Exactly is June's Wish." She
heard Neil ask.
"Oh, Uh, Just to uh…"
"We need the wish sir, Do you know it?"
"Yes, But, Well…Uh… It's complicated,"
"We've seen many strange and
complicated cases sir, Speak away,"
"She wants to see the sun."
"Oh that's easy, all we gotta do is go
back in time and take her ou-"
"No, no, no, Like, to the sun."
"Oh that's hard." Neil's face looked
exhausted already. Eva thought to herself, Well,
This is another all-nighter.
"Well this is another all-nighter."
Neil said.
"Sorry, She had an imagination just
like her mother…"
"Oh, Is your wife,"
"Yes…"
"Sorry, So, uh, Let's do this, EVA!"
Neil walked over to Eva, Who was fixing
up the machine for the sun.
"Well, This will be interesting…" Neil
started.
"What's the job, Watts?" Eva asked.
"Oh nothing abnormal, Just like… The sun."
"Like, THEE sun?" Eva had her shocked
face on, and a "I'm going to quit this job if I get burned to death in a
memory!", face.
Neil walked over to June. "Thee sun…"
Once Eva and Neil were hooked to the
machine, Eva sighed. "Ready Neil?"
"Ready to tell me what's wrong?"
"Ready to shut up?"
"Ready."
And they both went into June's
memories, back a month.
She'd been out cold, For a month…
