"Hey guys guess what!" Stephanie Meanswell, the mayor's niece, exclaimed as she came up to her friends a piece of paper clutched in her hand.
"What's up, pinky?" Trixie, a tomboy, asked using her friend's nickname, which she had been given because of her pink hair and clothes.
"My sister is coming to live in Lazytown!" Stephanie yelled before she was bombarded with questions.
"You have a sister? When is she getting here? Is she like you?" Stephanie waited for everyone to calm down before she answered.
"Yes I have a sister. Her letter said later today. And no she's more like Sportacus always wanting to move, exercise and stay in shape." she said making them smile in shock.
"Wow so we'll have a girl who's just like him. That would be so cool!" Ziggy, Stephanie's friend who loved candy, exclaimed before a green car entered the town.
"Is that her?" Pixel, another of Stephanie's friends who loved computers, asked Stephanie smiled and nodded vigorously. A woman that had black hair with green streaks through it bounded from the car and hugged Stephanie tightly.
"I have certainly missed you sis!" the woman said as Stephanie hugged her just as tightly. Meanwhile up in his airship, Sportacus was watching the interaction with joy etched across his face.
"Come and meet my friends, Emily." Stephanie said before they heard a honk coming from the car. They looked in to see Stingy, another of Stephanie's friends who thought everything belonged to him, in the driver's seat.
"Hey what are you doing?" Emily asked Stingy glared at her.
"Driving my car." he said gripping the wheel tightly.
"Uh it's not your car, and before you try to deny it I have the keys to drive it." she said he sulked but did get out of the car. Emily locked it and then went back over to Stephanie. But before she could open her mouth, a woman with blue hair, who was talking on her phone and not paying attention, stepped onto a skateboard and she fell back. Emily jumped up kicking a wagon over to the woman who fell in completely unharmed. Needless to say, the kids were very impressed.
"She really is like Sportacus." That name made Emily turn and look at her sister in shock.
"Did you say Sportacus?" she asked Stephanie nodded, a little confused at Emily's reaction. Emily felt her heart skip a beat at the mention of her friend's name, after so many years without him she was hoping to see him again.
"Emily are you alright?" Stephanie asked snapping her sister out of her trance; Emily nodded before two hands covered her eyes.
"Guess who?" a deep accented lyrical voice teased making her smile as she grabbed the hands and turned to see her dear friend.
"No need to, handsome." she teased making him laugh before he hugged her tightly.
"Emily how do you know Sportacus?" Stephanie asked once the shock had worn off.
"Have you forgotten, Steph? I was the first one of us in Lazytown, I met him my second day here and we've been friends ever since." she said before seeing someone wearing all purple sneaking close to them.
"Sportacus, Robbie Rotten is trying to sneak up behind you." Emily whispered Sportacus nodded and turned to catch the fist Robbie tried to bring down. Emily went to grab Robbie's other hand but Sportacus put a hand out warning her to stay behind him. Emily knew something was wrong so she looked with her eyes and saw his other hand moving for a syringe that held a dark blue liquid. Without thinking, Emily moved in front of him just as Robbie jabbed the syringe forward into her chest.
"EMILY!" Stephanie cried as her sister fell to the ground, Sportacus threw Robbie as far away from them as he could before turning his attention to Emily, who was breathing far too slowly for his liking. Whatever the liquid was, Emily apparently was having a bad reaction to it she was like a statue.
"Robbie what did you give my sister?" Stephanie asked in a screech. Robbie however was too scared of what Sportacus would do so he just ran back to his little home below Lazytown.
"Don't worry Stephanie I'm sure this could hold something." Pixel said holding up the syringe he had gently tugged out of Emily's chest, Stephanie nodded as she tried to keep calm. When she looked back at Emily being held in the arms of Sportacus, she almost laughed out loud. In the letter she had sent, Emily had confessed to Stephanie that she had always loved Sportacus but didn't want to ruin a friendship.
"Stephanie can you go tell your uncle that Emily will stay with me until Pixel can figure something out?" he asked before walking away holding Emily closer then he should have been.
"Oh getting them together will be fun." she thought before she went off to tell her uncle.
Chapter Two
Sportacus held himself together rather well, in his opinion. But his emotions were beginning to get passed the wall
he had made to keep them in. He looked down at the woman in his arms and nearly lost it if he hadn't caught himself in time. Emily had always held his heart even though she did not know it. He wanted nothing more then to tell her that he had fallen for her but his friendship with her was very good and he didn't want to ruin it. Once he had gotten into his airship, he gently laid Emily onto his bed and prayed that Pixel could work a miracle on whatever the liquid was. A series of beeps alerted him to mail arriving. He held out his hand and effortlessly caught the tube that came soaring into his ship. Taking out the letter, Sportacus dropped into a chair saddened by the news. The liquid was a mix of several others the end result was that the victim of it was like Sleeping Beauty except true love's kiss did nothing for it, Emily had to fight with it herself if she wanted to live.
