Chapter 3

Note: Previously, in "Rock Angel," Klaus and Caroline have breakfast in bed, during which they discuss the tattoos they got and then have steamy sexy shower time.

Orion Club – Later on...

Klaus and Caroline walked into the club, hand in hand, laughing and kissing. They were obviously reliving the great time they had last night, as well as the wonderful morning after fun they had. They were even looking forward to when they were finished with their gig here at the club so that they could take some time off.

As they neared the stage, they took their eyes off each other long enough to see that the band was setting up to rehearse for tonight's performance. Rebekah, who had been tuning her guitar for the past several minutes, looked up to see the two lovers approaching.

"Well, look who finally decided to show up. Rehearsal is starting in five minutes."

Klaus gave his sister an annoyed look. "Don't start, Bekah. I was in a very good mood this morning."

"I could see that from the way you and Caroline are holding hands and being all lovey dovey," said Rebekah. "Personally, Nik, I think you two don't care about the band. We could bomb tonight and you two would be too busy kissing to notice."

Caroline, who had been listening to this, didn't like Rebekah's tone. "You know, Rebekah, I've tried to tolerate your bullshit, but lately, I've gotten tired of that jealous look you give us. Klaus and I happen to love each other. It wouldn't hurt you to accept the fact that we're happy."

"I don't care what you think," said Rebekah. "If you want my opinion, I'd say that the only reason you're in the band is so you can have sex with my brother."

Caroline was about to respond when Klaus decided to speak. "That's enough, Rebekah. I've had it up to here with your attitude. I won't have you speaking that way to Caroline. And we do care about the band. What we don't care about is the way you're accusing us of something that isn't even true."

Rebekah said nothing to that, just scoffed and walked off the stage. Elijah noticed her leaving and then looked at Klaus.

"If it's any consolation, Niklaus, I think she's handling this the wrong way."

Klaus nodded. "It's good to know that at least someone here approves." He got up on stage and plugged his guitar into his amp, tuning it. "Rebekah may be our sister, Elijah, but I can't stand the attitude she has sometimes."

"I don't like it either," said Elijah. "She had no right speaking to you like that." He sighed. "You know, if you're not up to playing tonight, we could always postpone for another night. I know you, Niklaus, and you're not yourself when you're angry."

Caroline, who was just coming up on stage herself, heard what Elijah was saying. "Elijah's right, Klaus. We don't have to be here." She got an idea. "How about we go for a drive? The fresh air will help take the edge off."

Klaus stopped tuning his guitar at Caroline's suggestion. He hated to admit it, but she was right. He was obviously still pissed about the incident with Rebekah, and it wasn't doing him any good to be here when he was this upset.

"I guess we could leave before I wind up breaking my guitar in the middle of rehearsal."

Caroline nodded. "I knew you'd agree." She carefully took his guitar off and put it on a stand before taking his hand. "Come on, let's get out of here." She looked at Elijah. "Thank you, Elijah. You always know the right things to say."

Elijah nodded and then watched as Klaus and Caroline left, relieved that they had taken his advice.
