inside it kills me
a trial & retribution fanfiction

in the light of the moon,
lies a girl in a darkened
room, covered in blood &
repeating a prayer, (over&over)
"please god, please keep me safe."
she's no older than eleven,
t/w/e/l/v/e at a push, crying over
her mother's dead body whilst
her daddy shoots up in the next room.
she's used & abused, touched and raped
by the daddy who's meant to protect her.
tonight, she laces her fingers with
her sister's, kisses her forehead and whispers;
— "please god, please protect us." —
but deep down knows that he can't, & he won't.
