True Love (Come Softly to Me)
Chapter 1
I had finished putting on the final touch. My light blue jacket embroiled with the signature OR for Ouran. "Wait till my date sees this." I mused imagining the look on her face as a presented my bouquet of violet roses sweeping her off her feet. "I am at your service my lady." Swooning before fainting, I would gently carry her unconscious figure back to my car. For as long as I had seen the show I desperately wanted to be a host. Although I wasn't as tall, or as rich, as Kyoya-sempai, I still daydreamed about being fussed over by girls. Aside from the obvious wealth and height difference I was the spitting image of Kyoya Ootori the accountant and "mother" of the Ouran High School Host Club. "Mom, Dad, I'm leaving now." I called.
"Okay, drive safe sweetie."
"Yes Mom." I rolled my eyes. I was taking my father car considering my mother owned a mini-van. 'Yeah, I'll pick my date up in a mini-van so I can kill what little self-esteem I have left.' I thought sarcastically to myself. After I started the engine I adjusted my rear-view mirror. I put the car in reverse and began backing out of the garage. About halfway down my driveway I turned my head so that I could check behind me for pedestrians and other cars. "The hell?!" I locked eyes with an elderly woman dressed in a bed sheet.
"What a strange carriage." She said admiring the many aspects of the interior.
"Who… who are you?!" I stuttered.
"I am the Fairy Godmother."
"Yeah and I'm Louis XIV." I rolled my eyes.
"Don't believe me?" She took out her magic wand. "Bibbidi-Bobbidi-Boo!" A brilliant streak of light erupted from the wand and hit one of the dead plants outside the garage. Instantly it rose up and grew beautiful yellow flowers.
"Okay I believe you." I said with awe. "But why are you here?"
"Unfortunately my schedule has become too busy for me alone to handle and I need someone to carry out my duties." She explained.
"I understand; but why me?"
"You seem to possess a pure heart, great courage, and endless devotion, all qualities that are rarely found in a person such as yourself."
"Me? No. You must have the wrong person. I'm introverted, shy around others, and wouldn't have gone to this stupid dance if she didn't sound like it would break her heart if I didn't."
"You don't give yourself much credit. You fail to see the goodness and generosity in your soul. I know that even though you say you didn't want to go you do."
"I don't know what you're talking about." I interjected turning away from her. "All I care about is myself."
"A pity you fail to see how charming you are." She sighed defiantly, "Bibbidi-Bobbidi-Boo!"Before I could rebuttal I was whisked away to the World of Disney.
Setting: late 19th century Europe
Time: Around 10:00 PM
Place: The backyard of an aristocrat's house
After my wild ride was over, I inspected my clothes, they hadn't changed. I was still wearing my light blue Ouran jacket over my white dress shirt with the purple and black striped tie around my collar, my pocket-less black slacks and formal black shoes. From behind me, I thought I heard sobbing. Sure enough my suspicions were verified. Cinderella was draped over a stone bench weeping. I couldn't stand to see someone in pain so I went over to her. "Excuse me, are you alright?" I asked politely. Cinderella looked up at me with her lonely, grey eyes still laced with tears and sputtered, "Who… who are you?" Crap! I was trying to come up with a convincing lie. I couldn't just tell her that I was from the future. "I'm… I'm… I'm your escort to the ball of course." I told her bowing slightly.
"The ball? But I can't go looking like this." Cinderella said holding up the torn fabric of her dress. Crap! Forgot about that. "Uh… um… well…" I was gasping for words. I put my left hand into the jacket pocket and felt a slip of paper inside of it. Removing the note I read it to myself. 'Just snap your fingers.' "Snap my fingers?" I looked at it puzzled. Oh what the hell couldn't hurt to try? [Snap] Out of a whirlwind of fairy dust and bright light, Cinderella remerged in her trademark silver ankle length dress and gloves to match. Her hair transformed from a scraggly mess into cute bun that was kept in place by a hair piece that ran along the middle of her head. I gave her a simple silver necklace that wrapped around her neck snuggly. I ditched the whole glass slipper idea and instead gave her silver coated heels that went quite nicely, if I do say so myself and I do, with her outfit. "Better?"
"Much."
"Now to get you to the ball. Here hold my hand." She extended her hand to me. I took hold of it. [Snap] We appeared in front of the main entrance. The startled guards just stared at us flabbergasted. "Shall we, my lady?" I said in my gentlemanly demeanor, bowing.
"Yes I do believe we should, good sir." She copied me, curtsying. I offered her my arm which she took. We made our way into the main ballroom. In the ballroom there were many elegant young ladies all dressed in their finest silks and jewelry. I spied the prince standing where the royal seating for the king and queen was located. The Prince was roughly 6'0'' and looked just about the same as me except I wore glasses and the prince wore his hair kind of like a 50s greaser. He was dressed in a tan jacket that had a yellow collar with military style fringed shoulder pads along with yellow cord that ran across his mid chest and wrapped around his right armpit and shoulder blade. He wore a belt over the jacket, which I assumed to make it contour to his figure. His red pants with a single yellow stripe on each side running vertically down the length of the fabric complemented the tan jacket. His pure white gloves had no imperfections, obviously fresh from the royal tailor. His black shoes were the same as mine. Cinderella whispered to me, "Wow! I can't believe I'm the same room as the prince!" I whispered back, "Exciting isn't it?" For what seemed like an hour we waited in line whispering to each other. All of a sudden Cinderella's face tensed, her eyes narrowed and she scowled. "Them." She said under her breath. I already knew who she was referring to. I saw her step-sisters and her step-mother approach the prince. Drizella and Pricilla curtseyed toward the prince. Out of respect he bowed to them but he was obviously annoyed when he did it. Looking up I saw that all three of them were positioned under a glass chandelier. A wicked smile crept across my face. [Snap] CRASH! The chandelier shattered as it hit the floor. Pieces of glass scattered across the ballroom. Drizella, Pricilla, and Lady Tremain lay in a bloody heap crushed under the weight of the chandelier and cut to ribbons by the shards of glass. Panic filled the ballroom as ladies shrieked, averted their eyes, and fainted. The king and duke called out to everyone to remain calm, after everyone had settled down, the king instructed the guests to resume the festivities outside. I gave Cinderella a thumbs-up sign and mouthed "good luck" to her. She placed her hands together, tilted her head and smiled back at me. She then turned around and followed the other guests. [Snap] I disposed of the trash and levitated myself to the second story to watch the dance from above. As I exit the door leading to the outdoor balcony, Cinderella has her turn to meet the prince. She curtseys, but instead of sweeping her up into his arms he simply smiles and bows to her. The Hell?! I almost cannot believe my eyes. Isn't this the part where they share a dance and then eventually live happily ever after?! I see Cinderella acknowledge him walk away and then sprint back into the castle. "Shit." I curse as I return indoors.
Only two chapters in this fic. Rewritten if any of the same people recognize this.
